It does seem a curious situation, moreso for a home game, when you'd expect the entire squad is at Dens. Why restrict yourself by cutting two off the bench options? I guess the answer is 'because you have no intention of bringing them on', as the 4 outfield subs cover back-to-front options....see last sentence from his BBC comments below!

The choice of Duffy & Teijsse up front would appear to be consistent with Hartley's statement that he'll change the side to give all his squad similar game time. I was also expecting Loy to play, paired with either of those two, if that was likely to be Hartley's 'main' attack option for the league. I assume he feels they work on these things enough in training.

Hartley is clearly single-minded (stubborn, to some) in his belief in the way he wants to build & set out his team to play. I thought this extract from Sportsound's pre-3pm text contained some interesting & revealing wee points. I'm assuming it may have been from an interview with him earlier in the programme?

"I don't run the financial side of it. I bring players in and try to develop them. We're trying to bring players in. We need reinforcements in terms of up top, and defence too. The style that we have, I'm not going to change for anybody and the players are not going to change."

Who is that 1 person shouting from the Derry. Get the idiot tae F. "Rubbish, rubbish" all I can hear over the open all mics. Can someone no tell him tae shut his puss?

It's someone at Killie....the commentators just had a wee chat about him.....and about it being a fair assessment of their game.

You'd need good lungs to get on the Sportsound Mics from the SE.....their reporter's in the Main Stand :)

Thank Christ for that. Thought the Stuart bashing squad was on the loose again:)

I must admit, the first time the guy was heard, it was while Richard Gordon was talking at Dens & I thought it was one of our main stand fans....but we were 3-0 up! Not that that would stop some :). I think Tam McManus said the guy was only a couple of yards away from him at Killie & fairly loud!

"I'm not going to change for anybody" ..... Just heard PH say the same thing on what must have been his post match interview.

He did of course say a lot more and I thought he came over very well, not only trying

to be honest in his comments., I thought he sounded much more comfortable being

interviewed on the radio, as opposed to the TV. I am no near the stage of calling him

stubborn  either. I much prefer the term focused or "single-minded" Well Done DFC
