I see now its Big Lee's turn to try and sell Greg Stewart for less than he's worth .

In his column in last nights Tully  he is saying its unrealistic for Dundee to expected offers near 1m and that's there's no team would ever pay that  as he is 26 and only has a year left on his contract ..

Is that right .... funny how The Turk , with a reputation as trouble , a lengthy ban hanging over his head for sinking his teeth in to a fellow pro on TV then not only denying it but then accusing the victim of being a racist , with a year left on his contract and who couldn't lace Stewarts Boots went for 1.5m.. !

Maybe we should try handing out thousands of free tickets and putting false transfer fees in the press. That seems to have worked well for the 'model club'.

I thought that was an odd thing to say too. Roundabout the age of 26 seems to me the age that players who have no history of injuries do earn big transfer fees. It comes down to the fact that he plays for us. At last we have a set up that is investing in players who have potential. Until FPS and PH coming on board we had to employ players who we hoped would do a job. We are seeing a different type of signing where the player can improve with coaching and playing in a team that has football skills at its core.

Hemmings was a start, Greg Stewart is the next step on the way. We don't have a financial imperative to sell him and with him for the coming season our attempts to be top 6 are much better. The difference between 6th place and 10 place is £250k at least, and when you take in the additional attendances which could be worth at least another 12k visiting fans or £300k you can see why we don't have to jump at the first offer.

It would be interesting to know why GS isn't valued so highly. You would think that goals in the English leagues, and assists that move a team up their leagues would earn them much much more money than the differences in the value of prize money in Scotland.

Think Jamie Vardy proves some players develop later in their career!! Plus I think if your in doubt if Stewart in terms of value have a look at the quality of his goals, he could almost have his own Goal Season completion each year.

Wilkie is talking pish. Man Utd didn't have a problem paying £24m for Van Persie when he was 29 with a year left on his contract so £1m for Stewart at 26 with a year remaining is hardly unreasonable. Stewart is a late bloomer like Vardy so he has plenty years ahead of him.
