To move from Dens or not?

  1. 1. Are you in favour of the club moving from Dens to a new purpose built stadium?

Now that the likelihood has increased, it seems like a good time to ask the question again...

Based on - New stadium location adjacent to Camperdown park, stadium size of circa 12,000, Bolted on retail / leisure facilities and significantly improved hospitality and conferencing facilities.

What say you now fellow Dee's?

My heart says no - I love Dens, it's home.

My head says yes. - for the club I love to survive and grow we need to grasp this opportunity with both hands.

That sums it up perfectly.

I wouldn't want to move but I can make a list as long as my arm as to why it would be the best thing for the club and improve our income streams for the long term. If it's a serious option that doesn't put us in any financial jeopardy then it really has to happen.

Yes - for the reasons above.  That and the fact in 20 years time the current Dens will look a good deal worse than it does now.

I voted No. I could never choose to get rid of the ground where my granddad watched the Dee conquer Scotland then Europe then took me up the old steps 30 year ago.

If our home opened in 1899 turns into a car park I'll be gutted but I'll just have to deal with it.

I take it if it did come to pass that we left Dens you would still support the club and go to games tho?...

As above. If this comes to fruition it is a real opportunity to design a facility which most other clubs should be envious of and include premises for business, hotel etc to generate funds.

Yeah. It's not a reason to give up on your team like an amalgamation as far as I'm concerned. Would just be sad to say goodbye to all those memories.

Would be gutted to leave Dens Park, have loved going, and looked forward to being there for 40 years now, it would be like losing part of me, but if our owners and the majority of our fans want it, I guess I will just have to go along with it!!! Am getting a bit old for standing in front of bulldozers with my save Dens banner lol:lol2:.

but if we must build a new stadium please, please can we have the corners filled in and the whole thing flow together, I hate these new grounds like McDermid with four basis stands, looks sh*t and destroys the atmosphere!

I think we'd all like that mate but I guess the 'lego' grounds are considerably cheaper so its what I expect we'd end up with. For me though its the people that make the atmosphere, not the ground although my contributions to the atmosphere are pretty minimal, apart from the odd rustle of my sweets. :D

Needs must I am afraid and whother knows maybe in another 100+ years when we are moving on from the new site the fans then are gutted about leaving the spiritual home where they had so many great memories of leagues won and Europe conquered?

Maybe a bit far fetched? haha.
