Midfield Woes

What's happened to our team recently, especially our midfield?

Yes, I know we have had injuries but all our skill and inventiveness we had seems to have vanished.

We also seem to have lost our willingness to get really ripped into the opposition for 90 minutes, our squad badly needs a lift.

One name: McGowan.

An absolute engine. Whilst Harkins can pull something off special 10% of the time, McGowan forces that to happen as he harries the opposition into making mistakes and gets our creative players such as Stewart, Harkins & Thomson receiving the ball in more advantageous positions.

His wee man syndrome (Which I don't think I could tolerate) forces the players around him to not let slip for even a moment.

Put McGowan beside Phil Roberts, there's an idea!

In all the live games I've seen McGowan has been the main man. Nothing spectacular but his energy to close down the opposition gives the likes of Harkins and Boyle the room and energy to do something positive. He does the heavy lifting that Harkins can't / won't do.

That might work or.......it might go spectacularly wrong. Probably fascinating viewing as they shout and bawl at each other leading to fisticuffs (and kicking  ) and a pair of red cards.

It's high time we gave our home fans a lift, there's no excuse for he not putting St Mirren to the sword.

Unfortunately I can't see us beating the Dabs, the way we are currently performing.

Time for PH to show us what he is made off.

Just being realistic.

Our record against the Dabs is shocking and if we try and tip tap our way around in midfield, I'm afraid it's unlikely to change.

Only by ripping into them for 90 minutes will we have a chance.
