I think he could make the difference this year. We've been crying out for a tall, strong, dynamic midfielder for a couple of years. One who can defend and attack plus has an engine...

Tin hat on here:unsure:

O'Hara was excellent yesterday, and has been every time I've seen us play for us this year, however I was equally impressed with James Vincent. Said on another thread that if it wasn't for him yesterday we would have definitely conceded more goals. He seems to be the perfect holding midfielder we were crying out for all last season. Protected the defence immensely, and couldn't believe it when I heard people around me slagging him (not may I must say). A couple of his passes were slack I have to admit, but I would put that down to the fact that he hasn't played very much football at all in the last 12 months. Looks to me though that we finally have a very strong, competitive midfield.

If this bunch can stay relatively injury free this year, there's no reason why we can't push on and do much better than last year, even without Hemmings, Harkins, and possibly Stewart.

Man Utd can have him for £99m and save themselves a few bob.

:) We could then offer Greg 50k a week to stay...

So were Vincent and O'Hara both playing alongside Gowser yesterday in a holding three or was Gowser further up?

Wasn't at game but thought O'Hara was played as an attacking mid as PH has suggested. He seems to have the legs to get up and down the park.

Thats......a good question, as the Rev says, he seemed to be up and down the park. I much prefer to watch the game sidey ways, apart from having a better view of both goal mouths (I sit behind the away dugout at Dens) I find it easier to pick the formation. I've not even watched the highlights yet (to my shame) so no more knowledgeable. He was certainly back to cover plenty but he was covering a lot of ground.

Looked to me as though Vincent was told to sit in behind O'Hara and McGowan, and those two were told just to sit tight infront of him when County had the ball, then as soon as we got the ball they would bomb forward, and Vincent would stay put.

Considering people questions tactical ability as a manager sometimes, he was Mourinho-esque yesterday-_-

McGowan said in his interview that Hartley has told both himself and O'Hara that whilst they're both being deployed in deeper roles he wants them both to bomb forward given half an opportunity.

Watching the highlights, he's a big strong lad that makes direct runs.

As usual, we were a bit slow to start and we nearly conceded an early goal.

Very positive performance, but still work to be done at CH.

Killie are the seemingly the worst team in the league and O'Hara was a player they wanted out the door!

Their manager seems to be a total fuckwit - sent to the stand after ten minutes yesterday for swearing and turns down cash for McGennis.

Come on, cash for that donkey?
