I'm just trying to equate it to pints. 1980 was a bit before my bevvying time, I didn't start going to the pub until about '85 and was paying 70 odd pence a pint in some bars (although it wasn't long after I had my first pound pint :o). I had a saturday job in John Menzies when I was about 15 and got about 9 quid a day, that was in '83 which would have got me in and enough to get the teenage me buckled on less than a tenner, assuming my saturday job was on a sunday of course, they were all 3 PM kick offs back then.

Looks like the price of everything has shot up. :(

Taking the median figure of around £2.75, in real terms, a ticket of that price *today* should cost £12.58

We're being fleeced!

I think the English fans are being fleeced. Arsenal's 1980 season ticket is £384 adjusted for inflation. They could comfortably charge that now but instead their season tickets range between £1k and £2k.

Our current ticket prices give us a chance to build a competitive team. If we slashed our prices to 1980 levels, I imagine we'd be part-time in the second tier.

EVERYONE is being fleeced.
Some just more than others. :)

DON'T WANT TO COMMIT MYSELF AT THIS STAGE, BUT IT SEEMS VERY STRANGE, THAT THIS COINCIDES WITH KH's MUCH BETTER PERFORMANCE.
