Who Do We Buy????

With the money for Greg and Kane combined with three high wages now free (GS KH GH) we must be in a strong position to purchase a quality player(s).

 

Would you spend the lot on a 'top player' or purchase a few players to bolster the squad???

We're not far away as a squad, couple of decent quality signings to bolster the squad would do me.

In an ideal world a centre half, creative goalscoring midfielder and maybe another option up front.

We're pretty thin at FB, I wouldn't mind bringing in some cover/competition even if we can't sign anyone 'better'.

CB and RB only needed to complete the squad for me but an additional pacy midfielder would certainly be useful.

Wouldn't mind us having a look at this boy. Noticed him last year and has scored for fun in league 2 the last 2 seasons. doubt he would move away from London to come up here anyway though.

I don't think we should be buying anyone in the post Bosman era. We can comfortably build a strong team without paying transfer fees. I would rather increase Hartley's wage budget than risk splashing out £250k on a player. It's maybe worth paying £50k for a very high potential young player but otherwise I would stick with our policy of doing PCAs.

Agreed, we've come a good way so far doing just that and I believe there's still some distance we can go.

I would like to see us bring in some cover for both full backs, IMO mcnaughton would have been the ideal signing who could have played either side. 

I agree we could do with another CH but not as worried as some about julen and O'Dea. Obviously depending on injuries. If it's proving so difficult to bring in someone of the correct quality I would be inclined to run with what we have and keep some cash for the January window and bring in a centre half with a view to longer term rather than another squad player now. As wattie says I'm sure Matty Alan could make the step up if required. And even before that would be necessary we have both kosta and o'hara who can cover.
