Olympics

Recommended Posts

Is there really not a thread on here for the Olympics?  Philistines the lot of you.

Anyway, I'm not too fussed about a lot of these 'Olympic sports' but for the first time I have really got into this cycling lark.  And it just so happens that GB & NI are really good at it as well.  We have our Sir Bradley Wiggins and Jason Kenny of course but I especially like the ladies racing.  I'm always expecting Rosa Klebb type females in the Olympics but these lassies all seem to be your normal, run of the mill, super athletes.  Justin Rose has just won a gold medal in the golf as I type this btw so I suppose it's good to see us doing really well in sports that we 'invented'.  I'm sure we invented the bicycle, did we not?

I've been loving watching the Olympics Attilio.  Been watching sports that normally don't take any interest in. I will watch anything if a team GB sportsperson is taking part. We have down superbly well so far and are now 2nd in the medal tables which is a phenomenal effort. Make me proud to be British.  :D

Hopefully there will be some recognition for our Olympians. Sir Andy Murray and Sir Mo Farah to start with :)

Edit to say that I am still loving watching the cricket Attilio. I just wish I had started watching it earlier in life

Good to hear you're still enjoying your sport bud.  Didn't see much of the last test match due to football/Olympics.

I find it great watching top class sportsman/sportswoman, competing at the top of their game, regardless of they are British/Scottish or not.  Good to seethe lottery funding into these sports bearing fruit. :o

Absolutely loving it :)

Also going to get tickets for the Davis cup semi final in Glasgow next month when Great Britain take on Argentina. The missus loves her tennis but has never been to see the pros play so I will treat her if I can get tickets. I think it would be really good to see a player like Murray live.

Irish boxer's interview is worth a watch. He doesn't hold back.

Best part was the interviewer trying to shut him up!

No hope!  :)

Oddly enough, same day, one of the "open air" swimmers was laying into the Refs for being useless and not knowing what they were doing...
