Anyone into cycling ?   Not watching it but actually doing it.

I bought the missus a new bike a couple of months back and got mine serviced so we could go out on bike runs. Used to have two dogs which needed walked a couple of hours a day but sadly lost them a couple of years back so needed something to help us keep fit. We really enjoy it and would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to do a bit of excercise.

We get a lot of cyclists visiting Islay as the roads are relatively flat apart from the steep climb up the hill from the Port Askaig ferry port.

Eh'm definitely too auld for cycling mehsel noo Islay, but when eh was fitter, thought it is a grand way to get roond & aboot, It would seem Islay would be ideal for the cyclist ....especially during the quieter season.     (Little pleasure to be had I would imagine, to be a cyclist in the likes o' London, or any of the big cities these days)

I can just see you and your good lady meandering along gently, Islay's coastal roads & scenic country lanes, on your tandem, passsing the time of day with the friendly locals, stopping for a wee blether & welcoming hot cup o' tea. No forgetting of course, your local co-op tae pick up their weekly specials and hae anither wee news catch-up :)

No need to go to our local co-op for a news catch-up.

Last Thursday (25th August) we returned from a fortnight's "holiday" in Dundee.. The following day my wife was speaking to our next door neighbour who told her that the word was out that we had sold our house. That is amazing considering we have not even put our house on the market. I would interested to know what price we received for house.

That is the problem of living in a small place. People here get part of a story and make up the rest....

Sounds like pretty much everywhere to be honest. Since I got the dugs I've been meeting lots more of my neighbours and I've turned into a right sweetie wifie. :lol2: I'm by no means the worst of them either. Even when I was in the Forces people bitched, moaned and gossiped about each other, on the bright side, we were a bit more forthright sorting out our issues away from work but still, at the end of the day, we're all a bunch of wee lassies. :lol2:
