Ideas To Improve The Club.

As it says.

Decent ideas to improve the club and being back fans, improve the experience, help etc.

Please don't just say "prices". Give an explanation on how to improve.

I'll kick it off with a stall outside The Derry selling tickets.

Close the topic. We're done.

I think the best suggestions I've read on here still stand up. Open days where players meet the kids, players going into schools, handing out some DFC gear and tickets and really get that "wow" factor with current and future Dee's that will make them feel part of the club.

Catchy slogans are great marketing tools but no one is going to buy a ST because of a clever one-liner. We really need to bring the club to the fans instead of expecting them to come to the club all the time.

I'm not one for meet & greets, or player's "do's" but I know a lot are, so if more of this kind of thing can be done (and at less of of a cost) then maybe that would help too?

Improve comms via Open Days in pre season with a training  session included, realistic pricing, decent lavvies in the Coxy - with hot water, soap and towels (post match), Bring in i marketiung guru even on consultancy, risk/reward basis.

Our sponsor McEwan Fraser do a better job of promoting the Dees (via Twitter, etc) than we do.Lean on their marketing expertise as they will have a decent in house team

A new stadium

Target students big time now we are SPL team

Really push the lottery - its cheap and a great revenue stream - make it an option at season ticket time

Promote Dens as a function venue - the Crematorium/Balgay are not far away really - plus weddings, 21sts, etc I think conferecnes are dubious due to size of rooms tho?

Cross bar challenge and DeeLites of course!

Ticket priority to season ticket holders full stop, not supporters clubs (tin hat on!) - but that is the true reward for a season ticket, I canvassed this with fans of other clubs and they agreed.

the underlined point above is absolutely bang on the money - something I've noticed as well, and its embarrassing for the club

There have been similar threads around this area, including my own recent topic around .."What is the future for DFC"

Frankly, I'm delighted to see this being introduced to a range of New & Older Topics. We cannot afford to be complacent.

DFC & Our BOD have made steady progress in the Club, and there is every reason to be optimistic for the future of DFC..

But we/they, cannot afford  to focus too much on the big plans, at the expense of dismissing, what seems the lesser areas.

United are DOON !! And I am no' saying that jist 'cause eh like reminding them & us (Now Gedee?) Weel maybe eh am :lol2:

Seriously, I am no gonna add any more ideas of my own, because here on TDB.s .... Good ideas A/A, keep coming along.

When the ither lot got relegated (& even before, & certainly now) DFC SHOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT OFF THE BLOCKS.

Us DFC fans & supporters must take some responsibility. But the main power (imo) lies with the Club. They will rue the day,

they ignore this. Many, in fact most of the ideas put forward, do not involve big sums of money, just a willingnes to become

engaged .... And as already said, I direct this at DFC. So DFC & Players (in the nicest possible way) Get aff yir erse & dae

something NOW :)    Who's to say, a few hours a week of the players time interacting with young potential DFC supporters,

won't bring direct results (Small acorns & awe that) Even if it disnae, it's still a good thing tae dae. Dundee Football Club

Do we still do a golf day with the players?

An open day would be obvious and I've no idea why we don't do it. The young fans getting autographs, watching the team train, bouncy castle, lounge open for refreshments,  deewok etc. United do one every season and it's a huge success.

Expand the community coaching.

Sponsor a juvy team like Dee club.

A ladies team?

The club should have a presence at the Freshers Weeks at the University of Dundee; Abertay University and Dundee & Angus College. I helped out at these when the club was ran by DFCSS and now that we are the only Premier team in the city we should be able to attract newcomers to the city who are football fans. At that time many students talked about an 8 game ticket (which would be at a discount) as they were away from Dundee too often to justify a full season ticket. Worth considering again to help improve the crowds?
