Rangers

I thought Killie had a real go and were well worthy of their lead at half-time. The young lad Kiltie provided just the kind of ball we haven't seen from Dundee the last couple of games. I hope Hartley took note while sitting in the stand because we maybe showed them too much respect the other week.

On another note, I don't think Rangers fans have a song that isn't political.

Tavernier really is an excellent player going forward. His delivery is consistently superb.

The tackle in Barton was horrific and the young boy really should be hammered.

Other than that, poor first half from both sides, wasn't impressed with Killie at all, Kiltie aside. Second half Rangers seemed decent but toothless. They really need a striker in the mould of Loy, funnily enough.

I was sitting in the Main Stand at the Rangers game and most of the Rangers supporters in sections A, B & C of the Main Stand stood throughout the game. As this is not a standing area the police should have told them to sit down or evicted them from the ground. Nothing was done about them singing sectarian songs throughout the game.

All it required was an announcement from the police match commander over the tannoy system advising that if the Rangers supporters did not sit down in their seats and stop singing sectarian songs the game would be abandoned. The SPFL would then have to deal with the consequences of that decision which would be world wide news.

In my opinion it is time for Police Scotland and Neil Doncaster to take action to ensure that the supporters of all clubs including Rangers and Celtic abide by the laid down rules.

I'm really really not sticking up for the orcs here Islay but I've been in plenty away ends where we're (Dundee fans) standing for pretty much the whole game, funnily enough, the a** whooping we took at Ibroke last season was one of them. I can live with the standing and while I don't personally feel offended by songs about Catholics and whatnot, its absolutely pathetic that this stuff gets belted out, could you imagine the uproar if it was anti Muslim ? I'm not on a crusade to sanitise football by any stretch but people come out with all sorts of stuff at football matches that you'd hope they wouldn't in 'real life' but to use a centuries old religious feud to be sh1tty towards others when you don't have a religious bone in your body is just cringeworthy. I'd love to see the Police go in and drag people out one at a time and either arrest or eject anyone coming out with this stuff.

What really annoys me is that there is one law for the OF supporters and a different law for everyone else.

If the bulk of the Dundee supporters in the South Enclosure had stood throughout the Rangers game stewards and the police would have quickly told them to sit down or be evicted from the ground. If they had sung sectarian songs the club would have been reported to the SPFL and the club would have faced a large fine or playing their next home game behind closed doors.

However if Celtic or Rangers supporters sing sectarian songs nothing is done about it.

Neil Doncaster cannot say that he did not hear the sectarian songs being sung by the Rangers supporters at Dens because they must have come over loud and clear on both BT Sport and Radio Scotland. If Doncaster cannot hear these songs being sung every week by Rangers supporters then he is needing hearing aids!

I don't disagree with you mate, we know there are huge double standards involved and if the powers that be are serious about doing something they need to start hammering the clubs AND the fans. The other cheeks Palestine flag performance the other week shows that its not just down to the clubs, those fans must have known that the club would be fined over the flags but didn't care. As I said above, I'd be delighted if the Police went in mob handed and started carting people away making the individuals accountable too for unacceptable behaviour (I'm not saying waving a 'naughty' flag is worth an arrest, just pointing out that the club can't always be directly accountable).

Giving stewards cameras to 'intimidate' the fans into behaving might be an option, if someone is belting out offensive songs on camera then the club can ban the individuals, if required, the camera stewards can be masked to protect them from harassment. I'd rather the clubs and especially the governing bodies were being seen to at least try and stamp this out, its mind numbingly embarrassing to be associated with this behaviour because I'm a fan of Scottish football.

There is no point in the Scottish football authorities complaining about the singing of sectarian songs at football matches if they are not prepared to do anything about it. It is not up to football supporters to complain. Doncaster as Chief Executive of the SPFL should take action.

UEFA certainly take action against clubs for misdemeanours by their supporters no matter how big the club.

It will be interesting to see what happens if the Celtic supporters do not behave themselves in their Champions League game at Manchester City.
