O'Hara

As much as I like O'Hara, I don't think he's a clever enough footballer to play in the 10 role. Players in that position tend to have a bit more flair. Play him as a central midfielder with the freedom to make powerful runs from deep and I think we'll get more out of him. He looks a bit lost when he's played too far up the park.

Totally agree mate.  I see him more as a gav rae type and you'd never have played gav there.

I thought he was anonymous today.

Gav Rae was exactly who I thought of when I saw O'Hara's physique and style of play. I'd play Wighton in the 10 role, thought he showed some nice link up play today.

I'd like to see yordi and El bak up front and Wighton in behind and go at teams.

Hateley, gowzer and Ross /o'hara in midfield.

I agree I would like to see us go with two up top with the fast tricky striker playing off a bug strong centre forward. Still unsure if Yordi can give us that consistently. Would love us to be more direct in our play as really think that would suit el bak better but sadly with PH in charge I can't see it ever happening

I'd like to see someone like Yordi, but better, in that role. Hopefully that's what's Hartley is on the look out for.

Agree on the OP. Thought O'Hara looked a bit lost today in that role.

I find it a bit ridiculous that we have two experienced right-backs playing in the middle when we're crying out for an experienced right-back.

I'd play Hateley at right-back with O'Hara in front of the defence and Ross in the number 10 role until we can bring in someone more creative. Ross played up there when he first arrived and did well.

Is this not where Ross played at Inverness too? Think he's got the ability to play that killer pass which is something you'd want in that position.

Edit - totally agree re and experienced RB. Kerr looked better today but he'll continue to be targeted and I don't think it's fair to expect him to be consistent at his age.

Yep that's where he played at ICT. First thing I noticed about him at Dens was the clever little passes he was knocking into the box to wrong-foot defenders. That's the kind of vision that creates chances against teams that are sitting back away from home. Sticking O'Hara in the number 10 position makes it easy for other teams because he's not particularly creative.

Agreed. I'd still like Wighton given a run 'in the hole' but Ross is another I could see doing a job there. Last season he was decent enough but seemed to shirk tackles and that annoyed a lot of us. As the season went on and he dropped further back he was actually chasing down players and making crucial tackles/interceptions. I'd have no worries wi him being deployed further up the park again.

O'hara is never a number 10,and as others have said, should be played deeper.

This is the position we should be looking to strengthen, before we sign a forward.

A player of the standard of Harkins, playing in that role today, and we would have won easily. Our attacking 2 would have looked much better, with an experienced ,in the hole, player playing.

Our front 3 comprised of a 19 year old,a 20 year old, learning a new position, and a 23 year old who has only played a few games outside of league 1.

All 3 have shown good potential ,but its a step to far for them just now.
