Two reasons:

1. I am now not convinced it was a red card

2. Play the fast one like most clubs and have him for Dons game if appeal not heard this week.

Thoughts???  Mine are just to accept it and move on.

Hartley's comments suggest we wont appeal. What was he sent off for?. Thompson on Sportscene last night claimed it was a straight red because Gomis caught the boy on the knee but the boys knee was on the deck with his foot tucked behind him and that's why he got injured. Gomis was a bit late but not by much. Seeing it again it doesn't look as bad as I first thought.

At start of the season I accept (rightly or wrongly) defeat to OF, Aberdeen and Hearts and accept every point we take of these teams as a bonus. Everyone else, we go into the game with a decent to good chance of winning and I'd prefer our strongest possible team against those. On this 'logic' I'd rather we were without Gomis against Aberdeen than against our mid-table rivals (yes I know Aberdeen are mid table at the moment!)

I think if you lose the appeal there is a possibility the panel can deem the punishment can be more than the one game. To me he is unlucky as I don't think it's a "dirty" tackle as both players are going in full hearted and he is slightly late. But I'd take the red card and move on. I'd rather he missed the Dons game than the ICT game the week after. We are not expected to beat Aberdeen so anything is a bonus but we need our strongest team against ICT as we need to get a result up there.

That seems like sound logic. If last week was 'must win' for some then I think we've got to deliver against the Dandies or risk meltdown so will need our strongest possible 11.

Thought at the time it was a straight red but with the benefit of hindsight I think it's a bad decision.

The ball was there to be won and both players have made identical challenges. Slid in powerfully with 1 leg, no studs up. Both were hurt. The Killie boy undoubtedly gets there first but the sending off was presumably for the tackle being reckless/dangerous as a late sliding tackle only merits a booking.

If Gomis gets a red so should the Killie lad for the identical challenge.

That said - absolutely no chance on appeal either so we move on.

Only seen it on TV but I would appeal. Wasn't over the top, he went in with 1 foot no more than a couple of inches off the ground, his only crime was he was a bit late. If they start giving out reds for two boys sliding in then it's gonna be a long season for the appeals panel.

Having said that I fully expect any appeal to fail :-)

Don't think it's blue tinted specs but 2 challenges that could have had different outcomes in a split second and we've come out worse in both. Gomis and Killie boy go for the ball, Killie boy's hurt and Gomis sent off. Last season McPake and Paton go for the ball, McPake sent off and out for a year, Paton unhurt. Fine lines in both instances.
