CsIcsHOWYAAe6ck.jpgOver 16,000 were packed into Tannadice for this Derby match and it was United who started the strongest. Dennis Gillespie came close early on when his long range strike found the side netting with United shooting toward the shed end.

However, it wasn't long before United got the noses in front. Left winger Lewis Thom picked up a loose ball just outside the penalty area and he hit a marvellous chip shot with is left foot which dipped over the Dundee 'keeper. Alan Cousin was the Dundee man who made sure the teams went in at half-time level.

Early in the second half Bobby Waddell scored a header from close range after a fine cross by Penman. It was Penman who set up Dundee's third when a less than dangerous cross was hooked back across goal and a mix up let in Jocky Scott to score.

Then, as the game reached it's final stages, Jocky Scott got his second and Dundee's fourth with a diving header from a Roberston cut back.
