Dundee mull over deal for Dutch trialist

Dundee are currently mulling over whether to offer trialist Jens Janse a contract.

The Dutchman, who has played in Italy, Georgia and the Netherlands, turned out as a trialist in the Development squad’s 2-0 defeat to Hamilton Accies at Links Park on Tuesday night.

The experienced right-back was given the opportunity to impress manager Paul Hartley as he looks for competition in that area.

Also involved in the game were first-team players Yordi Teijsse and Nicky Low.

With another 90 minutes under his belt, Teijsse will be looking to push for a starting place on Sunday.

Low, however, had to come off with an injury.

He has just recently returned to training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

It is believed it was precautionary and he will be available for Sunday’s game against his old club Aberdeen.

There was also a boost when it was confirmed Dundee defender Darren O’Dea has not fractured his foot.

It will be a case of wait and see if the Irishman is considered fit enough to take part in the game at the weekend.

The news he might be available will be a massive lift given that Kevin Gomis is suspended after last Saturday’s sending off.
