We surrendered a lot of possession to Aberdeen but undoubtedly were the more creative team and had the better chances over the piece.

Below is a lengthy run through of all the good chances over the 90 mins - I've added a bit of panto emphasis to stuff to further my own agenda but everything is accurate.

First chance to the Dons - corner cleared off the line(ish)

Then our fantastic goal. Every one of our "ineffective, negative midfielders involved" except Hately. Excellent battling from gowser to win it, Jules steps in with a ball to El Bak who holds it up, supported by O'Hara, nice interplay between those two before O'Hara finds Gowser again, lovely wee ball to Nick (D)Ross who finds the anonymous Williams, good composure as he cuts it back, Holt with the subtle flick, pinpoint pass from gowser between 2 Dons, delightful flick from Nick (D)Ross and a quality finish from Holt.

Then they score - errors from Holt and Bain unfortunately.

next chance is ours, the boy Maddison - loses out to excellent pressure from el Bak who lays off to Ross, his layoff to Hately who turns his man and plus it back to Ross, we'd to Williams, back to Holt, into Ross Wh plays a stunning pass from just inside his own half straight through the whole Dons team to the onrushing gowser. His turn inside and lays it off to O'Hara who had burst in from the right flank to the penalty spot but his drive excellently blocked by Considine.

Aberdeen corner is cleared by holt to el Bak who carries it to halfway, his beautiful switch finds gowser who nods into the path of O'Hara his through ball seems destined for Williams bursting through the middle but is just short and o'connor slides in, the ball breaks out and O'Hara, who has continued his burst forward slides in to pass the ball to El Bak, his footwork is 100% better than the Dee Tv camerawork ( ) and he works a yard of space before curling a 20 yard effort wide. The slow ponderous Dundee team had gone from the edge of their own 6 yard box to playing a through call into the opposition box in 11 seconds. Chronically slow...

Next decent chance - under heavy pressure from 4 Dundee players McLean whips a hopeful first time cross into the box which Rooney heads feebly wide.

half time

1st chance of the 2nd half - Aberdeen trying to play it out from the back, excellent pressure from first Williams on Logan, El Bak on o'connor then o'hara on Considine forces the defender to play it back to McLean who has been forced to the furthest man back to give an outlet. Unfortunately Gowser has chased him all the way in and nicks it off him and runs through before hitting the worst shot I've seen in my adult life. To be fair he looks suitably embarrassed.

from a throw in Dundee go again, quick passing between Hately, gowser and Ross who finds el Bak in space - 1 touch and his 30 yard strike cannons off a defender and out for a corner.

Aberdeen hit the bar next - a poor touch from Ross as he overplays it surrenders possession to Hayes but Nick Ross, despite rumours that he gives it away and wanders off without a care in the world, desperately slides in to stop him dribbling on, ball breaks to Shinnie however who takes a touch and under heavy pressure and a challenge from Nick Ross (again!) smashes a wonderful shot towards goal for Bain to tip onto the bar - the ball breaks back out of the box but guess who's there first to clear it.... Nick bloody Ross of course.

dundee pour forward again. Holt wins a header, Hately nips in and touches it to Ross, back to holt, back to O'dea, into Hayley's feet again, great ball inside to McGowan on space in the middle, drives in a couple of strides and hits a 25 yarder wide - a significant improvement on his previous effort but still a bit of a minter with El Bak and O'Hara available if he'd chose to pass.

Next Bain makes an excellent stop from the onrushing Maddison.

Aberdeen try to play out of defence again, O'Hara pressures Considine who finds Hayes, under pressure from o'hara and Kerr he plays it inside to Shinnie under heavy pressure from Hately, unable to take any touch his first time pass back to Considine has him scrambling under more pressure from o'hara. He picks an impressive pass to Hayes who is tightly marked by McGowan in front of him and Kerr behind - his rushed first time pass back is intercepted my el Bak who drives at the defence and in another day gets the penalty.

Bain takes a quick free kick to O'Dea, short to Hately, wide to holt, couple of gallops forward and a good ball to el Baks feet, he slightly miscontrols and the ball bobbles up, he wins the challenge with Ash Taylor and the ball loops to the edge of the box, O'Hara holds off the centre half with excellent strength, flicks the ball to his right and fires a volley just over the bar.

hayes has it out wide but Kerr and O'Hara are pressuring, plays it back to Considine and O'Hara is on him immediately, another *** pass finds Maclean but Ross is right up his ar**, his forced first time pass to Taylor is accurate but El Bak is on him in a flash, his first time pass to Shinnie is a bit slack but he manages to pass it back to o'connor despite heavy pressure from McGowan and Ross, Ross is in the process of being closed down by El Bak and his heavy touch lets the Moroccan nip in before accelerating away from o'connor, his cut inside bamboozles o'connor and Shinnie but his cut back to the onrushing O'Hara  deflects off Considine and the keeper saves at the near post.

great goal from Aberdeen, the best winger in the league, having switched sides to get out of Kerrs back pocket, streaks past holt and plays an excellent cross to the giant striker. 2-1 game over.

3-1 - shocking penalty decision ends the contest.

Ohara sent off.

End of match.

Better match report than the official which appear to be a bit less opinionated these days which I thought was good about them.

Has the official match reporter changed?

I wouldn't go that far!

The official match report certainly was 10x better than the nonsense produced by the BBC.

Reading that you would think our/Aberdeenshire performance was akin to Celtic vs Sevco or Barca vs Celtic when in reality we conceded possession to Aberdeen whilst having the better chances.
