A sad loss to his family, and to our Legends....only 78, a relative youngster of the '62 side.

The 4-1 win away to Anderlecht, the 5-1 win at Ibrox, and the 3-0 title winner at Muirton are the videos I recall as featuring some of his skills as both striker & in his often deeper role supporting Gillie, and I'm sure there was a double-shuffle in one of them (Ibrox?). I recall, at school, several of us used to try to copy that double-shuffle, and made erses of oorselves every time....probably Iain Phillip was the only one who could do it & retain possession! :)

Alan was a genuine gentleman of the game, a creative & intelligent player, and an entire career without a booking.
