I'm not being directly critical of PH here, but I suppose it's also about the temperament & character of the manager.

Some managers don't seem to be so cautious wi' introducing young lads. If the talent's there, the time is then right.

Suppose it's about finding the right balance and making a decision & then doing it. But it's a tight division we're in.

I think you need to be cautious with young players, playing in a side maybe a bit low on confidence won't do their development any favours. If Wighton and Kerr are struggling for consistency then it's likely most of the other young boys would too. This is CW and CK's season to get themselves into the first team and two is enough IMO.

Aye that's the truth o' it an-dee ...

And if I was being honest I'd be hesitant as well. No only for the reasons you gave.

But the thought of dropping points, in what I already said wis a tight division, I think

I'd fall back on the older experienced players. But in doing so, I might well be wrong.

As has been mentioned, we have 2 academy players established in our first team squad already - we really are no worse than most teams in the league on this front I don't think.

With the negativity swirling around at the minute if Hartley dared throw a young lad in who struggled as we lost he'd be shredded for it.

Loy also scored for the Dev team I believe...

I'm not sure the team are low on confidence, when Hately joined he said he spoke to D O'D who sold him on the club, the squad seem pretty tight knit too, you see it when they score etc. I think its us chimps that are maybe low on confidence.

I don't think how tight knit the squad are have anything to do with confidence on the pitch tbh, when you're in a run of games without a victory it's bound to impact on your confidence IMO - that's all I meant with the 'maybe a bit low on confidence' comment.
