Inverness CT 3-1 Dundee: Dark Blues off the pace in the Highlands

An off-the-pace Dundee slumped to a disappointing defeat in the Highlands as Inverness Caledonian Thistle recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.

The Dark Blues were caught sleeping right at the start of the game as Caley striker Lonsana Doumbouya leapt highest inside the area to glance a header past Scott Bain after eight minutes.

And the nightmare beginning got even worse on 16 minutes as Greg Tansey confidently swept his spot-kick into the top corner after Julen Etxabeguren’s foul on Billy King.

Despite early pressure from Paul Hartley’s men in the second half, the home side extended their lead as Brad McKay pounced on a loose ball to play in Liam Polworth who found the bottom corner.

The Dark Blues did get on the scoresheet as Nicky Low capped his first start of the season with a fine free-kick curling into the top corner with seven minutes remaining but it was too little too late for Dundee.
