Back To Basics?

I've said in another thread that we should get back to basics imo.

what I mean is stop this slow build up which we don't have good enough players for.

Teams like county, saints and ict have shown that if you get enough balls in the box then you'll at least score a few. The problem for us is we don't have any decent wingers which means we'd probably need to go for 3-5-2.

2 up top is vital imo.

Id try something like:

bain

gomis odea gadz

kerr hateley McGowan Ohara holt

yordi loy

load up the box and get balls in

bit harsh on el bak and I wouldn't be adverse to see him replace loy.

I'd like to see Kerr rested with the more experienced Hateley and O'Hara on the right flank.

I quite fancy Duffy for this game but I imagine he's not allowed to play against his parent club.

I'm worried about Loy's confidence after his fresh air kick on Saturday but I suppose there is no better game to score in and get back that self-belief.

Id play El Bak out wide mate.
Play Hately right back as a game like Sat could realy hurt Kerr`s development.
Loy and Yordi up top is what i would do.

However i do think PH will go with the same side.

Has to play off someone though surely. It's actually frightening to think how good he could be off wee flicks etc with his pace.

Just watched the ICT game again and their big Forward bossed our defence. Held them off, pushed them around and brought everyone else into the game. Everything we never did as a team!

Yeah, Ivan. Playing off of Yordi as a sort of Niall Quinn Kevin Phillips type partnership. Ideally it'd be Loy as he has that killer instinct to get onto spills/rebounds but he doesn't have the attributes to be a roaming target. Certainly deserves a chance at it though.

I've been saying for weeks we should be 3-5-2 (3-4-1-2 depends how you read it or set it up) ..I'd go with

 

Bain

Jules, ODea, Gomis

Kerr, Hately, OHara, Holt

Wighton

El Bak, Loy

Could have Ross in place of Wighton or Williams in for Holt or Gadz in for Jules but they would be on my bench with McGowan, Yordi, Mitchell, Vincent.

Sorry ww but Yordi isn't a viable option at all for me. 

Hence the urgency to get someone in to play that role
