Not to sure if the Saturday date would be the best, people have a lot to do on Xmas eve, most works will finish early on the Friday thus enabling more to get to the game, it will suit some but not others

Yeh, very true, although some guys might've seen it as a golden opportunity to miss the last minute festive shopping

Personally I don't mind the Friday night matches, never a problem for me, but there has been and no doubt will be many unable to attend. Just realised that BT already have a live game penciled in for that night, Motherwell v Aberdeen, same KO time as us.

See we've moved the home game against Hearts to Friday 23rd December at 7:45pm and the dabs have been allowed to keep their Christmas Eve date, moved forward to 12:30pm. Why are we having to move again, considering we did so last time when playing Hamilton?? Surely their turn to move.

I'm not sure but I think both boards are fairly amicable about it and pretty flexible so it doesn't have to continue to be one each every time and it can be made up later. I have a feeling they moved for us more often than we did for them last season and even the year before that but not 100% sure.

In this case, we actually have an extra fixture so it's probably to the manager's advantage. We play Partick Thistle on the midweek after so if there was a time we could have a game moved back, this suits it quite well. Doesn't make a huge amount of difference but it's certainly welcome having that full Saturday as a recovery day while our opponents can be watched.

I think that the SPFL have made a big mistake by scrapping fixtures on 2nd January yet having a full league programme on Xmas eve (24th December). In my opinion it would have been more sensible for players, fans and their families if no games were played on 24th December and keeping the New Year fixtures as before.

However nothing is sensible where Neil Doncaster and his mates at the SPFL are concerned.

Really annoyed by this as I will now miss the game due to family commitments. Can only hope one of the tv companies chooses to show it.

I am in a similar situation where I now cant attend, with all the game changes this is another nail in the season ticket coffin.

For selfish reasons I'm glad we've got the Friday.

Christmas Eve is hectic enough as it is for me without needing to find a couple of hours to visit Dens.

It's a stupid day to schedule football for in the first place. If they had to have a midweek round, they should have used Boxing Day, Thursday 29th, and New Year's Day. If BT and Sky both want game from the midweek round, one takes Thursday, the other Friday and move a NYD game to 2nd January (also a holiday).
