Good SPL standard?
Poor SPL standard?
Championship player?
Worse?

Dont think many would reach Good SPL to be honest.

Don't see much point in feeding your need for whatever here bud.  Looks like you're on a massive downer about the state of our squad.  Some folks will agree with you and they'll be along in a minute no doubt.  Some folks think we have a decent squad but need strengthening by a decent striker asap.  About sums it up imo.

Think all of our players would find places in other SPL teams including Yordi.

Was talking about this in work. Although most are half decent would you be particularly bothered if they weren't here next season. Gomis looks a find and Bains a fantastic keeper. Other than that ????

I think a way of looking at that would be to view our squad through the eyes of the clubs vying for a top 6 spot (as we apparently are) and ask whether they would have any of them in their regular starting squads (e.g. Aberdeen, Hearts). From our squad at the weekend, IMO that would be Bain, O'Dea, Gomis.  Bottom six clubs, McGowan, Williams, El Bakhtaoui, Kerr, Holt, O'Hara, Wighton, Mitchell. Championship clubs Loy, Ross, Extabeguren, Low. I don't think Jordi would make the cut, and I don't think he'll be at Dens after Christmas.

Loy is our best striker.

Ross is one of our better midfielders, as is Low if he could just stay fit.

Pretty stunned you think they wouldn't get another top flight team.

What has Loy proved? I agree Ross is a decent player, and maybe he's worthy of a bottom 6 club if he were more consistent. Low has chronic fitness issues, but could do a job if he could avoid injury. My main point was that a very small number of our current squad would compete for starting spots in top 6 rivals, and surely that's the level we should be aiming at?

Loy got a decent number of goals from limited minutes last season, especially considering a lot of those minutes were spent out in the left wing. 

Think this season he's had 3 league starts and 2 goals? (Not actually checked so correct me if I'm wrong!)

Only two major problems with Loy as a #9, I can see.  He has the first touch of an elephant, so most balls played into his feet in close situations end up going straight to the opposition.  Too easily pushed off the ball and not the best at winning or competing for high balls.  That's three I know.

Loy can take a goal and his strengths are in and around the box - a poacher I suppose.  I liked Loy a lot at Falkirk and I'm convinced he can still do a job for us here.  We need to play to his strengths and we haven't been.
