Doon Derby

Recommended Posts

On holiday just now, looking after the kids during the tattie holidays and bored as f**k tbh (as you may have guessed).  Anyway, watching the recording of the Doon Derby again and now at half time.

One thing struck me watching this again that I didn't appreciate at the game at the time - probably due to the tension and all that - just how well we played in that 1st half, where imo we were dominant and should have been at least a goal up.  Bain had little to do - Ghadz and O'Dea were strolling it - Ross was very effective - Hemmings was leading Durnan and Dillon a merry dance and GGH was just outstanding imo.  We played some lovely football in that first half - not just sideways stuff but great balls into feet and into space for players to run on to.  Looking at the first half, Harkins is running the show.

Just as well we got rid of GGH then. Don't want any of this entertainment pish

Best atmosphere at Dens in years - rivalled only by the promotion game vs Dumbarton.

I remember thinking we should have been comfortably ahead at half time, but afer Utd's goal we were hanging on a bit and they could have got the 2nd. Obvioulsy we then scored and were the better side, culminating with Wightons jizz inducing final nail.

Go and remind us what happens in the 2nd half. Does it end well? ;)

The wee team takes the lead against the run of play.

The wee teams chairman looks like he has swallowed a wasp every time the camera is on him.

Hemmings continues to take the p1ss out of Durnan and especially Dillon.

The big team equalises from a 'whipped in' corner by a bloke that never tracks back.

Local lad becomes chief dab slayer for the big team when he nutmegs two dabs (including the nugget Dillon) while scoring the winning goal.

Grown man greets on live TV.  Scenes of joy from all in dark blue.

People decked in tangerine stream out the ground trying to be inconspicuous.

Beautiful Monday

That may well be the best story I've ever read!
