Big boost for this weekend mate. Although from what I hear Gadz didnt disgrace himself on saturday. We are looking quite strong in central defence now. When(if) McPake comes back in to the fold we are going to have a surplus of central defenders which may mean someone leaves? As decent as Holt has looked at left center back Id like to see him replace williams at wing back and bring in odea back in along side Gadz and Gomis.

 

Always sad to hear of young guys leaving the club, all the best for the future Greg.

I think the idea of moving Holt forward makes a lot of sense. I actually think he looks more suited to a more offensive position as his defending can be a bit weak at times. Now that we have the option of O'Dea, Gomis and Gadz as a back 3 it looks like the best option.

Holt was solid on Sat.

O'Dea and Gomis are the best CB pairing of the bottom seven teams. If we can avoid injuries and suspensions between now and December we will climb the league. We're far from being where we want to be but I think we have a lot of decent, hard-working players in that team.

Before we go to Parkhead on December 17th we have a trip to Ibrox and six other very winnable games that I think will shape our season. Now is the time for us to step up, move on from the hard luck stories and deliver, and I think we will.

I would be really tempted to keep Ghadz in the team for this game. He's solid at the back and is by far our best header of the ball from attacking corners. At a time when we are struggling to score, Ghadz getting on the end of Hateley cross might be our best chance of a goal.

Williams looked the weak link on Saturday so I'd move Holt out wide to make room for O'Dea. On paper that is the best defence we have had in a long time.

I honestly can't remember the last time Gadz put a foot wrong when he played. He had a shaky start but that was nearly 2 years ago now. Would have him ahead of Jules and McPake every day of the week.

100% agree. Holt looked comfortable enough at LWB last season and I like Ghadz especially as a threat from corners/free kicks.

I think there's a fairly even split among us, over which of those 3 (Gadz, Julen, McPake) were the best pairing with O'Dea, and since Gomis arrived as the best 3rd CB. You're certainly far from alone in your opinion that it's Gadz. There are at least two of us
