Is There Anything That Could Fire Up The Derry?

Was wondering if there was something that the BOD could do to help fire up the Derry. Changing the ticket selling arrangments does not appear to be possible so I wondered if something could be done about the pricing for multiple buys, say pay for 4 get a free ticket. Seems to me, and I have seen it stated, that we've lost some of the younger groups of fans who used to come alonga and make the most noise!

Might also be something that could be done to boost family attendances in the Bobby Cox. There was comment about how quiet the support has been. Old folk sitting expecting to be entertained with winning football isn't going to generate much of an atmosphere to fire up our team IMO so we might do better trying to get some noisy fans to come back.

Apologies to "old folk", I must confess I am one.

1) Hartley simply isn't winning enough games.

2) The no tempo style of play is like watching training games.

3) The fans have no idea what type of side we are, the constant formation changes are baffling.

4) They've deliberately made the Derry a morgue on the say-so of the Council.

5) £25 for Category A games is too expensive.

We've discussed this kind of thing in the past mate, we all seem to have our pet theories, mine being the price of the 'juvenile' tickets. Make it easy for the yoofs to go and hopefully it will increase both the numbers and the volume, as you say, us old farts aren't really the ones pushing out the decibels.

Ditto and then the Cox fans could move over to a new stand and all home fans would be together. All grounds are like this now  with home fans spread out. That is one reason that away fans create more atmosphere as they are all together - now for Perth!!!   A great time to show the team we care!!

I know swapping the away end from the Shankly to the Coxy isn't universally popular but it would keep us all together, the alternative is to make the SE the away stand, not exactly a universally popular idea either. Maybe in 'New Dens' we can tweak things around a bit.

it is still a problem and I was hoping that there might be something simple to try to help regenerate the Derry. I think the pricing for the yoofs is something that the BOD should be looking at and getting them back into the Derry doesn't seem to me to require a tremendous amount of change. Tweak the prices and hope that the shop would be able to deal with the change. I'd hope that if the shop staff were asked for their input you would get a practical suggestion. I suppose part of the trouble is that there isn't really a "free seating" space in the Derry that could be used for "walk ups".

It wasn't just on the say so of just the Council, it was Police Scotland that asked for the changes to be made on the grounds of health and safety. If Dundee FC did not comply with the changes requested, then Police Scotland was going to push to have that side of the ground closed down. So, the club had no choice by to put in the changes or I'm sure a lot more fans would have been moaning a hell of a lot more about it being closed.
