Worst Ever Dundee Team

Recommended Posts

I have been watching Dundee for over 55 years and I have to admit this is the worst bunch of players I have ever seen playing for us and I have seen some bad players in my time from Carl Bertleson, Peter Miller, Roddy Georgeson and Vince Mennie.

This lot make them look like superstars, we have no fight no talent and no idea,we are p*sh.

I think Hartley has lost his way and should chuck it before we are where United were last season.

Behave yourself, that's an embarrassing comment in my opinion.

One point if like to make though - people are (understandably) drawing parallels with Utd.

Can these people tell me if Utd changed manager at any point last season and how that worked out for them?

We are all frustrated with Hartley but let's try and avoid repeating all of our neighbours mistakes until we absolutely have to.

Thought it (Behave yourself) was a pretty standard comment when someone says something outrageous, certainly not something that I would be offended by, apologies if the OP took it as offensive.

Two things,

  1. I believe that it could be the tactics the players are being given by the manager and the formation that we are playing is more down to why we're playing shite at the moment.
  2. The reason UTD went down last season was due to who they brought in, namely Mixu. I honestly think if they brought in someone else then they would have avoided the drop.

We already are where united were last season!!

i think we've had much worse teams but the difference is that those teams were playing to their, albeit very limited, strengths .

I don't doubt that the players today all have individual ability, but what does appear to be apparent is their lack of understanding at wtf they are supposed to be doing.

what makes you think Hartley has it in him to turn it round? It's been well publicised he doesn't win a high %age of games. What's suddenly going to change that?

The United thing is interesting with the Mixu choice. I also think a lot of it was down to the sort of players that they had at the time. It was quite well known that many players that they had weren't quite mentally right in some ways and they were generally quite a young team. Groups of players react differently to these sorts of things and I think that group crumbled under the pressure of playing for a big side with an expectant fan base and having their parent figure taken away from them.

One possible defence that you could argue for Hartley is that we don't necessarily need lots of wins to turn it round - not losing games will be 80% of the job. Throughout his time here, he's always turned things around before and got the machine moving along. If he can demonstrate in the next few games that he can get some points, he does have a case that he can keep us up.
