Dundee new boy Marcus Haber says ‘there’s no need to panic’

Recommended Posts

Dundee’s new signing Marcus Haber is confident his knowledge of being involved with teams near the bottom of the league will hold him in good stead to help Dundee move away from the foot of the table.

The 27-year-old was unveiled today after putting pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Dens Park until the end of the season.

Haber, who is all too familiar with Scottish football after a spell at St Johnstone four years ago, said: “I’ve been involved in relegation fights before with other clubs.”

“I’ve been successful and unsuccessful and I think it builds character.

“You have to be mentally strong and trust your ability to be able to bounce back from bad results.

“It takes a lot of mental focus and I am prepared.”

Although Dundee prop up the Premiership table at the minute, the Canadian international striker feels they won’t be there for long.

He added: “It’s only 10 games into the season and, in Scottish football, you can climb the table with a couple of good results.

“There is no need to panic.

“In training I can see the team has quality to perform and get us away from the bottom of the league.”
