Poor, very poor. Baffling bomber esque team

Selection. Thomson is a class act, but it's hard when he's got to carry Mcallister the whole game, awful, why hartley starts him is beyond me. Miss bains distribution and presence. If Ggh is fit and available, he starts. Hartley had a mare yesterday, big improvement needed for the derby.

There's that many threads since full time yesterday that I didn't know where to put this so have started a new topic with general thoughts on yesterday.

Gary Irvine - Another excellent performance. Our best player on the park by a distance.

Tank - Good performance. Promising but will he ever score a goal?

Letheren - Definitely our number two now. Doesn't seem to have any confidence. Looking forward to Bain's return.

Konrad - Was he drunk?

McPake - Not one of his better games.

McGinn - See above

Thomson - Personaly find him frustrating. Good football brain but never looks fit enough and his distributions too slow. Overrated by a section of our support as others have pointed out.

McAlister - Looked out his depth. Pretty anonymous other than chasing shadows.

Boyle - Terrible control on so many occasions and really needs to improve his decision making.

Stewart - Not one of his better games yesterday.

Clarkson - Didn't offer much. He should be playing in the box though with service which he has had none of lately.

Hartley - The right man long term but got it wrong yesterday, not for the first time this season. 4 forwards and 2 midfielders yesterday? Squad imbalance being found out. Under pressure for the derby IMO. Has to give us a performance and nothing even close to that garbage in the Dens league derby which was the biggest derby humiliation in 20 years.

Typical day at Dens yesterday. Big home support let down badly yet again in a "should win" game.

Home form is a disgrace. Yes we are X points clear of 2 of the worst teams ever to grace the Premier but the gap can close of we don't get our act together.

A lot of work to be done.

Agree with most of the Post having doubts about Paul

Again spot on smiffy.....

Thomson is our one oustanding midfielder

Harkins looked gutted yesterday being benched,as is far better starting than trying to get up too speed when coming on...

Also said in a previous post that mcallister needs dropped pronto, runs about a lot but takes no responsibillity whatsoever to get on the ball

Thomson played well.

Can't agree with that mate, sorry. Just meh opinion though. Counts for Sweet FA in the grand scheme oh things.

Bad day at the office all round. Which was hard to take as St Mirren really aren't good at all. Big step up in application and quality required for Thursday or we will get horsed

Thomson was decent but extremely slow with moving the ball forward

Harkins was dropped because he has been rank although others have also been just as rank. It doesn't matter when Harkins makes an appearance he is never up to speed with any game.

No one on the park bar the tank looked up for it

Can you maybe suggest a team then that would have been better?
