Clearly I've made this quiz impossible so here are the answers.

6. Who was released by Dundee because he "wasn't good enough" but later scored more than 100 goals for the club.

Gordon Wallace

7. Who said: "The whole place died the day they sacked Jocky Scott and we just never recovered from that."

Colin McMenamin

8. Who was then-chairman Ian Gellatly talking to when he said: "You should be running the youths as you're incapable of handling the senior players!"

Donald Mackay

9. What game was Peter Caproni talking about in Diary of a Dee when he said "Half-time. 5-0. No wonder Dens rose as one to cheer the team off at the break."

Dundee 8-1 Koln

10. Dundee broke the British attendance record when they played a game in London. Who were the opposition that day?

Dundee Football and Athletic Club were founded in 1893 but ran into severe financial difficulties just a few years later and the club was liquidated.

The fans fought to save their team and the Scottish League bent over backwards to help their northern-most club. As a result Dundee Football Club came into being in 1898 and were allowed to be considered the same team.

The 1893 Foundation should be rebranded 1898 Foundation or I want my money returned.

The 1893 t-shirt is a deception, and I am completely shattered by your revelations.

In pieces. 🥺

Old Boys and East End were both founded in 1877 and both had massive followings. The fans of these clubs were livid by the amalgamation that created Dundee Football and Athletic Club.

You might say we started in 1877, you might say we started in 1898 but I think 1893 seems the right year to focus on for our historic club.

As for the mob across, they don't have to worry about which 19th century year best describes their founding. They were called Hibs in the 1910s and playing in black and white in the 1960s ffs.

Hopefully, they'll be black and blue and propping up the Premier League by 5 pm tomorrow.
