Bar being an ex-DAB, which brings about the usual pantomime booing routine, I'm not aware of any extra hatred for Coyle. There will always be the odd person who gets a wee bit too excited but was he ever in any danger?. Great from GB if he genuinely thought that Coyle was at some kind of risk though.

Personally thought that the chaperone wasn't necessary and that our fans, who were fantastic btw, were not a jot interested in Owen Coyle.

Just my thoughts although I do concede that the emotion of the occasion could've been the catalyst for something unsavoury.

I think some of the fans were running across towards the dugouts. Possibly to try and congratulate Bowyer but some of the ones with a right skinful of booze might have had a go at Coyle. You could see Bowyer telling them to go away and put himself in front of Coyle. Fair play.

Fair play to Coyle as well who stayed in the tunnel and waited on all the Dundee players to congratulate them.

Nobody went near Coyle. Even James McFadden said on the BBC that the fans were too busy celebrating to pay him any notice.

Nice touch from Bowyer but wasn't required IMO.

They got close enough to clearly see Bowyer telling Dundee fans to to go away

Gonna go against the grain here.

Bowyer protecting Coyle at the end was one of the classiest things I've ever seen a manager do in football. And while the pitch invasion seemed really good natured, our fans have such a weird beef with Owen Coyle that one of them would've embarrassed the club if they had the chance.

Never understood the bitterness directed towards him from us. Same with John Rankin. Both seem like good guys IMO.

Agree. It removed the potential for someone to embarrass themselves and the club (only takes one). Nice gesture, and it meant the only talking point post-match was our magnificent support enjoying themselves.

Did you listen to coyles interview after the game? No credit at all to us,they controlled the game.

Guy is a bitter dab who has not beat us all season, yet never admits when the better team wins.

On saying that, hopefully they pump the dabs in the playoffs!

Totally agree with that viewpoint.

Controversial maybe but I thought that it was maybe a wee bit disrespectful to our fans although, as I've stated above, unexpected things can happen when emotions are running high.
