Don’t think main was good enough but we definitely should have replaced him. I know it’s all ifs & buts but Scott Fraser would make a difference to that midfield.

Main scored TWICE for Ayr today. Nuff said.

If Tony Doc continued to play Main, you’d be using that against him. No disrespect to Main but other than a chalked off goal against Celtic he didn’t do anything special in a Dundee shirt - and that’s probably being kind to summarise his time here.
All the best to him though, unless we get them in the play-offs.

Was always going to reserve judgement until after the Saints game. A lot of games still to go. Let's see..................

It's an IN from me.

Amazes me how DU can always seem to get a result. Currently beating Aberdeen away. Ended a draw. Goodwin has them set up to be a 100 times more resilient than us. We have more skill but TD has been absolutely negligent in not giving us some balance. Utd seem to be fitter and be much stronger mentally. They have experience as well.

After our successful first season TD should have been much more shrewd and balanced our side. Toughen us up, instill a mentality, get us fitter. A blend of experience, youth and skill.

Even when McCowan, Shaughnessy played last year when we were competitive, we were always a bit powder puff and lacking resilience.

That's been his big mistake this season especially with some of the injuries too.

Also I watched View from the Terrace the other day. Sad to see that playing Dundee has become a bit of a joke.

Not a better football side than us, but much better resources for this league. Unfortunately, because I cannot stand them.

Yes I know, we have more skill (not much on show recently though) but just making the point on how they are able to get results and lessons to be learned.

Do we really have a better footballing side than United?

Last season we won 10 games and scrapped 6th place, then had 4 very one sided defeats and one draw if my memory serves me right, could possibly be wrong though. United have 11 wins this season, look to be safely in the top six with 4 games to go, then another 5 games after that.

We do play nicer, more attractive football than Utd at times but we also get destroyed a fair few games. Football is about winning games, everything else is just irrelevant really.

Definitely not good enough. Wasn't fit enough either for many months.

At the beginning of the season we were playing attractive, passing football and at times were playing much better football than Hibs and Hearts for example, definitely United, who had just come up.

But yes, that doesn't necessarily win games. My point is that for all the good football Doc has totally totally neglected the resilient, streetwise side of things. It's a bit naive really... Getting that balance. United are way too the other way. St Mirren to an extent too.
