I would have said that the huge problem that Docherty never fixed was the midfield.  Only Sylla, Cameron and lately Portales made contributions that helped us last season, all three never playing in the midfield together. Needless to say we have lost them all. Digby  hasn't been overly impressive and the others are not SPL level from last season. Whilst there is a lot of flack going Pressley's way, he isn't to blame for this situation. We suspect that we are not paying competitive wages, Pressley was appointed and stayed away for another ten days. Two friendlies arranged. Just awful organisation. Pressley is right that we are not ready. He is having to field teams with players that were unhappy having in the side last season.

Yes, the whole defensive side of the team...including midfield.

I'm not alluding to anything I'm just asking a question. The only criticism I'm aiming in their direction is a lack of transparency, that also ties in with the lack of communication and engagement.

The pitch didn't cost £3m plus the pitch was of their doing, they choose to ignore the obvious issues, used a sticking plaster approach and paid the price.......or we did.

Docherty didn't need to be sacked so again that's on them.

Transparency in how they've spent money they haven't even received yet?

A percentage of it.

Which has been spent as said in my post - new pitch, Docherty et al's pay off, fees paid for players coming in etc.  The question of whether the money has been spent wisely is a different one.

This was a sadly predictable thread, glad I stayed away a few days.

I get people might not be keen on Pressley but holy moly if you really think this is his doing there you're absolutely deluded.

He's been sold a pup, my guess is he's more likely to walk away from us than the other way round.

We've got a project Steven...

1. New Stadium  ❌

2. New Training Ground ❌

3. Good Budget ❌

4. Dynamic forward thinking Board ❌

No pre-season in place when he arrived, hardly any players and only days till League Cup kicked off. My only doubt about Pressley is his judgement when he couldn't see any of that after 10 mins with Nelms, the man who's single handedly killing Dundee FC.

Issues that were of their doing as I said in a previous post, we knew the pitch was fucked and had been patching it up for years. We just didn't adequately maintain the pitch and now you're alluding that we sold our best player and used the money to cover proper repairs?.

I think you're flogging a dead horse if you're seriously trying to pass that off as in some way justifiable.

Maybe some transparency would've helped us understand things a wee bit better though.

I am alluding to nothing of the sort.

Was Doc paid off? Was it not a rolling contract not renewed?

The word “project” even gives me the fear in football context.

He was paid off, sacked in his own words.  His rolling contract was renewed end June 2024.
