could never understand how we never sold many on from that era some very good players in that squad.........

Nemsadze had issues with passing medicals I believe otherwise Celtic were keen and no doubt other clubs would have been keen to .

By all accounts a substantial  multi million pound verbal offer had been made for Fabián from Celtic pre injury but we knocked it back believing we would have gotten even more and more than likely we would have .

Then the powers that be absolutely sh*t on us over the Zura situation .

Those were the main players who you would have hoped to get big cash for and the gods simply weren't shining on us it would seem

Just seen this from a Falkirk supporter on Pie & Bovril and thought it gave a bit of a different insight in to our new head coach  .

I worked as a volunteer with the club during Pressleys spell and his character is as you describe. A gentleman and someone you could talk to for hours. He was very liked at the club behind the scenes (from my experience anyway). I don’t doubt that the Dundee players will buy into what he’s saying and will back him as it was a similar togetherness at Falkirk. Him being sound is obviously meaningless to you as fans but if it’s not at our expense I’m desperate for him to be a success as well.

Tam McManus told a story about him to Falkirk Daft podcast which sums him up… Tam was on a pay as you play deal with a low weekly wage. After suffering an injury he was dreading the monthly pay but was shocked to see it hadn’t dropped. It turned out Pressley was taking the hit out of his own wage to supplement Tam.

If Pressley does not have the players to choose and train then it’s irrelevant his character and coaching abilities. At the moment we are going into the first game with the most unprepared Dundee team since Club 12.
He might get a performance over a couple of games but over the course of the season experience tells us it will ultimately fail. He seems a strong character and one who won’t speak sh!te when the obvious is prevalent.  The board may have a change of thought if Sunday followed by Rangers away is a complete embarrassment.

I hope Dundee fans don’t turn on Pressley as he has been hung out to dry from day 1 with that Nelms interview.

Good post, mate.  Agree with all of that. If it goes badly , which it might, if we don't get in some relevant experience, the target for punter fury isn't in the dugout, or on the pitch.

Don’t think Pressley would take much sh*te if he thought he’d been hung out to dry. I remember him coming out n speaking against Romanov when he played for Hearts

Exactly, you don't become captain of Celtic by being a sheep.

The telling time will be after the window closes. IF he feels that he has been let down, then I hope he speaks his mind. The 4-5-6 players thing is bandied about like it is a matter of time. Until it happens, then it hasn't happened. Time will tell;  around 30 days for our board to show their true hand. One way or the other.
