To me he pokes a leg out in an attempt at stabbing the ball away and catches Turnbull on the heel. Pausing the action shows his outstretched leg and his foot making contact with the other player.

And so what is Turnbulls leg/foot doing? It’s certainly not going towards the ball

If the fact that Howley toe pokes the guy in the foot and gets a penalty, then why was the double challenge on Robinson on the lead up to their second goal, not a free-kick?

Just show's the hypocrisy in Scottish football when it comes to refereeing these days.

It isn't but I'm not sure that really matters where VAR is involved.

Why? Does VAR change the interpretation of a foul? Sorry not aiming any of this at you mate, I just really don’t get it

The still image that the ref would've been shown would show Howley making contact with Turnbull inside the box rather than outside. The referee had already deemed it to be a foul as he awarded Celtic a freekick. As soon as VAR's intervention shows him that contact is made inside the box rather than outside it's inevitable that he'll change his decision from a freekick to a penalty kick. Whether we like it or not it was always going to be given.

This is why context is important here.

Not a penalty to me... If anything, that should have been a Dundee free-kick.

Backs into our player to force contact with the sole intention of going down. VAR exposed as clowns.....Old Firm Clowns!

Rules need review - preferably both sets of rules rolled into one set of rules, no more 'Old Firm rules' and the 'anyone other than the Old Firm rules'.

Where the hell was Turnbull going, where is the 'denying a goal scoring opportunity', it's utter pish. If that was a Dundee player, whilst I would scream for a pen, initially, I would not complain at not being given it.

I probably have more chances of getting it on with Margot Robbie than this ever happening !
