Never a penalty, not even a foul IMO even if he does barely touch him, Turnball is backing into Howley and I would class it a 50/50 challenge. I am really surprised how many people (Including Dundee Supporters) are staying it was a stonewaller!

Turnbull dangles the bait. Howley connects, albeit not with much force, opponent goes down. It's given the officials a decision to make. Away to Celtic/Rangers, you just know what's coming next.

I'm one of those Dees! Or at least one who thinks it's absolutely a penalty. Soft or stonewall doesn't really matter -  It's in the box,  the Dundee player clips the  back of the Celt's foot and he goes down. The ball is out of range. We'd 100% be expecting a penalty for that.

The Celtic player’s right leg is extended to shield the ball from Howley (he is definitely not playing the ball) and consequently he makes contact with Howley rather than other way around.
Never a penalty imo.

Howley catches him on the heel but the boy's clever and makes the most of it. In the middle of the park it's probably given as a foul even though it's very soft so by the letter of the law and with the still image that the ref's likely seen its always going to be given as a foul and a penalty kick. Harsh but with VAR there was only ever going to be one decision made.

If it happened at the OTHER end, absolutely NO chance of a penalty. Figure that one out.

Weel we can debate all we want...But the highlighted bit by Polar Bear, sums it up totally for me.

It's what I thought at the time. I still hold that view. We'd never've got a penalty for that saft touch.

It’s a pen but shouldn’t be. He knew what he was doing and played for the pen and got it. Law says it’s a pen but the law is shyte imo.
Gets on my tits the whole ‘felt a touch so entitled to go down’. No way the contact from Howley is enough to bring him down.

I don’t think it’s a foul to be honest. Turnbull doesn’t have possession of the ball and Howley doesn’t even make a challenge. Howley is running to the ball, and Turnbull puts his leg in the way. No chance that’s a foul for me. If Turnbull takes a touch then Howley clips his heels, it’s a foul. But Turnbull isn’t in possession of the ball and initiates the contact. If that’s at the other end, Celtic get a foul. Also thought there was a foul on Robinson in the build up, but I haven’t seen it back. Looks like two players block him off from either side. Another one they would get, 100%.
