My main gripe with the new ground proposal is actually with the council, insofar as it was them who proposed that location.  Are the council helping in anyway?

I think it’s the difference between planners/employees versus elected councillors. The planners and city development team suggested Campy and they know it would be great for the city. They will work with FPS and propose it should be accepted. Councillors on the other hand are Dabs, or Nimbys, or scared to get voted out if they agree with the plan. And unfortunately it’s them who have the final say.
Look at Riverside. Planners agreed it, overwhelming support from local kids football teams but still 25% of the councillors voted no because they ‘have to represent their constituents’.

I would imagine that FPS are seeking additional financial benefits, which cannot be delivered at Dens Park. I don't have any problem with them doing that, as it helps them and helps the club, and gives the thing momentum.  The city infrastructure around Dens Park (and the dump) is creaking. The sewers are struggling. I would say that the only benefit Dens offers over the new ground is its location with regard to public transport and pubs. My main gripe with the new ground proposal is actually with the council, insofar as it was them who proposed that location.  Are the council helping in anyway?

Nelms and Co own Dens and it’s surrounds, after the Camperdown project is complete they intend to develop it. So they must have an idea of what they are going to do with it.

Council voted yes for Riverside. It was nimbys who challenged that in court who appear to have won. I would hope this matter is not over.

Yes that’s true. Prior to that tho, 3 out of 12 councillors voted against it. And that was for a relatively small and low impact training centre where there are already pitches. I expect a higher % will vote against Campy.

I was being facetious. Sorry but we do need an update from the main man.

This is a priority and I'd hope the SLO, or local journalists, could get a straight and honest answer out of him, with some realistic and rigid timeline.
