Let’s face it there is no way TD will be sacked. WGS mate, and he is intertwined into the development of the players and the club

some very good and balanced reading in here today, but agree we are playing pretty poor, how we the performances have been slightly better than RC game. Let’s hope we can build on it.

What’s the deal with the ‘WGS mate” conspiracy? Not a dig at you or anyone else but it comes up a lot,  I’m just not sure of the reasoning behind the theory. I’m pretty sure McPake was labelled as some sort of WGS project (and got sacked), Mark McGhee is a WGS mate (and got sacked), Callum Davidson was getting the Dundee gig as he is WGS mate from the Scotland setup (but didn’t take the job), and of course there was the infamous bullsh*t exclusive on here about Gavin Strachan taking the manager job.  It’s almost to the point that anyone associated with WGS in any capacity is likely to be doomed at Dens, rather than protected.

Think the game next Saturday may  be pivotal . Have to say he imo he is fighting with one hand tied behind his back - seems 2 players already committed elsewhere next season , 4 or 5 others not signed and almost certainly leaving , our signing policy is baffling with half baked loan deals , no cover in  midfield and astonishingly never replaced main in January and we now have the last number of games with 1 striker ( who is trying his best but is hitting the wall earlier and earlier each game ) . Not sure Jose Pep and Fergie combined could make this work

Astonishing is how I would describe it. Dreadful planning. I find it very difficult to believe that this is solely down to the manager.  The Main  punting and the McCowan sale at the last minute, suggest this to me. Smells of cost cutting, but just an opinion.  It is essential  that we remain prudent, but not at the expense of relegation.

I have always felt that Strachan helps  keep  John Nelms on the right planet. Without  him, God knows what would  happen to the  football side. In hind sight on McGhee. He was a dud, but that was probably the right thing to do, given the ridiculous delay in Nelms acting. And Bowyer's legacy seems to have been better than I, at least, thought.

For Nelms with no advisor you get the Jim McIntyre fiasco and summer when Hemmings and Stewart left the signings we let Hartley make, Vincent, Williams to name but 2.

The summer window and Jan window just past, we have allowed squad to get weaker. Can almost forgive the Mccowan sale, if it was rectified to an extent in January, but squad has got weaker.

No one can tell me that TD wanted to gamble with 2 untried young Mexican players, left back who has barely played first team, Donnelly fair enough, with vetro, braybroke abs main also leaving.

Robertson now injured for a 3rd time this season, fraser made one start and only backup striker injured. Telling last 2 games we have only put 3 subs on as most of bench is defenders and keepers.

Deals should have been offered in the summer to settle the squad.

Nelms and co have a history of not building on a solid premier season.  Look forward to the season ticket increase coming out and early bird expiring end of April!

While I've lost a lot of patience for Docherty, I do think that the "signing policy" of bringing in young lads with minimal or no competitive first team experience from English sides has been overdone. Donnelly is the best of the bunch and - no coincidence - the one with the higher experience level of competitive football. Ingram, Astley, Koumetio and Samuels have all looked average at best, so far. Add in Adewumi, Braybrooke, Vetro and now the young Mexicans and we have overdone youth at the expense of experience. Of the signings who qualify as experienced, Clark Robertson is slow, error prone and injury prone. Fraser has, unfortunately, been a waste of a (probably relatively high) wage all season. Add in having no left back cover in the first half of the season, not signing a striker when Main left and the general weakness of our midfield options and its a total shambles really. Our eleven who finished against the Fermers on Saturday featured Garza, Tiff, Finn and Cameron. That's maybe okay if you are organising a pantomime performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs....but it's suicide in the Tattie Howker physicality of our division. How much of the recruitment strategy is down to Docherty is something I don't think any of us on here really know 100%.

Last summer the focus would have been on paying for digging up dens, fixing the drainage and relaying turf, paying the league fine. Add in buy a striker - Simon Murray.

That answer I’m quite sure was sell a player.

You could well be right, but whatever the reason, we find ourselves very poorly resourced for this league, and that shows painfully.

We have 12 players who potentially won't be here next season, it was 14 but Finlay Robertson and Harry Sharp re-signed.
