Not to be too harsh on the guy... but isn't Scott Paterson our defensive coach? Great players don't necessarily make great coaches/managers and all great coaches/managers weren't great players but from i recall, he was absolutely sh*te, a journeyman centre half at best with a two bob Paul Weller Barnet.

What about bringing in someone like Jim Duffy as a defensive coach, even part time? John Terry credits him for teaching him how to tackle and read the game. Few others have also praised him for his coaching skills/knowledge in that aspect. Just a thought??

And a very good thought, maybe he can teach the wee feerties how to get "tore in".

As in said before, I was replying to someone saying they'd had enough. I also said the team chucked away victory(which we did). Saturday's result was another in a long line of let downs this season and the past few. And I agreed with someone saying they'd had enough. I never encouraged them, they posted and I replied. Another member stated losing to Rangers isn't a that bad of a thing. No, normally not but the manner of the defeat has just added to countless times this season(andclast) we've chucked away points (and wins) and let fans down. So it is another reason for fans already feeling like that to feel it more.

Just because I don't disagree with someone saying they've had doesn't mean I'm asking people to stop going. They chose to post how they felt and I agreed. Interpret that as you please.

As for the dressing up... whatever you choose to do in the privacy of your own four walls, that's your business and yours only. #ooohsuitsyousir 🫣🫣

Wow!, don’t know what to say to that so I,ll leave it there. 🙂

Shaughnessy has played 4 league games, and we've conceded 9 goals in those games, so 2.25 goals per game.

Without him, we've conceded 58 goals in 27 games, so 2.15 goals per game.

He might have good leadership skills, but his legs and pace had gone by the end of 2023. I think he would be better with Ashley and Graham either side, but we as a team are worse with a back 3 IMO.

The squad building this season has been nothing short of calamitous.

I think Graham will prove to be the  best left centre back in a 4 in a year or so time.

Billy,Ashley and Ingram are all decent and will improve in time.Donnelly has no composure- he missed the header at the end but how did the ball end up at Tavernier in their right back position- Donnelly blindly booted the ball straight up the park- in clearing it-get it out for a throw in somewhere around the halfway line- we can reset and would probably have got a point.

Yes I thought that, they all put a fair shift in, you would have put on someone in front of the defence or behind. soon as Murray went off. its done now, onwards. when will TD learn!

If you are a sub (defender) sitting on that bench, you would be raging not getting on - its was clear as day we needed reinforcements.

I reckon if we get 4 points from the 3 games, that will be a very good return.

Still on. But from the next two would be more than very good.

I'm not convinced that the defence is the problem, I've read a few posts suggesting similar. Breaking things down we don't have bad defenders, we don't have bad midfielders and we don't have bad attackers but the balance is out. We attack relentlessly, given the opportunity  but we don't have the legs, the experience, the players or a combination of the three to do that for 95 minutes week in, week out. Because of our style we need everyone switched on at all times but right now that's not happening and mistakes all over the park are being punished. We lost a goal at Hearts in the cup where Garza took a shot rather than playing in Adewumi and they went up the park and put the game to bed. Murray hit the post last night when (almost) one on one, the ball got played long, our defender got under the ball and it's game over. On another day Murray scores, Donnelly heads clear or misses the ball completely and we take a goal kick.

Whatever the 'problem' is. It's being repeated and getting worse imo. And after 4 transfer windows.

Countless points dropped from winning positions and goals being hemorrhaged  -  has incredibly got worse this season. I'm still Doc in, but it's hanging by a thread.

Are we fit enough?

Yes.

But need subs after 60-70 mins to either keep playing that way or to hold.

Doc doesn't seem to trust his bench, which is alarming as some are signed on permanent deals.

He needs to sort out that midfield if he is to stay. The weakest midfield in this league and  our appalling goals against  tally is intrinsically linked, leaving us where we are. We  can't  hold out  because  we are so easily overcome, especially late on, with nobody suitable to bring on to regain or strengthen our  grip on games. And  signing Donnelly at the expense of a Baka  type did us no favours either. Far too willing to go with smaller, softer players for my liking. This needs to change.

Does anyone know who the members of the team are who are responsible for player recruitment? I would assume Docherty and Strachan are two but unclear who else.

According to Doc last season in numerous interviews it was: Nelms, Doc, Strachan.

We know that Kirkwood was appointed last summer with the dubious title of Head of Recruitment.

So perhaps Kirkwood was simply added to the 23/24 recruitment team?

For whatever reason. It's been a disaster imo.
