Whilst not trying to defend the manager as his team selection and tactics have really poor for a while but would really like to know if he is fully responsible for the shambles of a squad we have. I don’t think over the years we have had good enough quality of managers continuously failing to know for definitely there is a bigger issue and mostly they haven’t been good enough but these inadequate squads including random signings that add nothing every year must be down to Nelms. The number of players out of contract are a joke, the signings of young players from english academies often for a fee isn’t working, over reliance on loan players with most not up to scratch or too young to make major impact, not signing players in key positions when everyone can see the gap etc..

Looking back now and I know there would have been up roar at the time we would have been better in summer flogging Mulligan, Sylla, Cameron, McGhee and McCowan for say a combined £1.5m even though we are likely to get close to £1m development fee for mulligan and Cameron  plus £1’m for McCowan and doing a proper rebuild of the squad. Nelms could have pocketed £50Ok for himself or whatever he does with money and with wages saved and a £1m could have at least made sure we had solid players in every position. We don’t have anyone making these tough decisions!  I don’t UTD have been particularly well run last few years but seem to still make better decisions like this and even get a fee for bang average player like Holt!!!

If you look at the bench last night, I don’t think it matters who the manager is. That’s not a premiership quality bench. , St Johnstone look decent and have tightened up at the back. Thought it was strange putting Luke Graham back to Falkirk when he’s better than what we have.. Dundee have tried to be a premier league club on the cheap.

That is how  it appears , given all of the circumstances around players. I am positive that JN thinks it is better in the  championship.

This describes our club. YoYo biscuits may have disappeared in 2003 but we continue to be a yoyo club.

When Docherty goes, whenever that may be, who will Nelms appoint next and how long will he last?

Would any of those on the following list be approached and appointed?  Who would the fans want, realistically?

I thought Docherty was doing ok in the first half of the season but the last few months have been almost as cringeworthy as his post match interviews.

I may be in the minority here but i would give him at least until after the Saints match on Saturday .

Its an awful run and Ive not been slow to criticise him at times either but i just feel he deserves a bit of time to try sort this.

Yes we were poor first half last night IMO but i also feel we were the better side in the 2nd half and we could and should have taken something from the match had the officials did their job properly .

For me that is a 100% penalty and i also think there's a Motherwell player offside and stood directly in front of McCracken for their second goal too .

What chance do you have if you aren't getting what look pretty straight forward and huge decisions from the officials .

That second Motherwell goal was offside as the player was standing directly in front of McCracken. He had to be interfering with play. McCracken did claim but don`t even know if VAR checked it.

Every goal is checked by VAR.

Second half we were the better team without really getting behind them except for the goal.

Corners and cross balls not being attacked or met as high as possibly killing us every game.

First half was a shambles but something was said at half time and there was an improvement.

Cant see any option but to start with the team that finished barring Finn- just not up to it.

No drive or dig in the tackle- pass the ball back whenever he can.

First half the whole team passed it back and square but much more positive second half- Joe was a step up certainly with his passing out of defence.

Might get found out with the pace of the 2 black guys up front for St Johnstone but he is the best option.
