So it was a two year contract? If rolling it would end June 2025. A week after saints game at Perh?

Think it was a one year t.b.h. - the Saints game was in May, surely?  Regardless, the payoff would've been less than I thought so we can scrub that from the list of expenses.

Genuine question - Do you think our owners have been fair in their financial support during their tenure?

Yes I do up till now. A few years ago Nelms said we needed a better tv deal or an extra thousand season ticket holders to compete more. We certainly aint got the latter, quite the reverse.

I now fear Keyes is asking him to run a tighter ship and if this stadium development does not go ahead they will put us up for sale.

Good, because any new owners surely can't be as bad as the current ones.

Can they?

We can only judge them on what's happened up until now and, like you,  I think they've stepped up to the plate thus far.

But, with ongoing delays to the stadium plan  now the training pitches situation it may well be the case that Keyes (and Nelms) are running or have ran out of patience.

I think almost every one of us is well aware that no stadium development means the end of the American's tenure one way or another.

the current owners are better than any of our previous owners. and our world famous neighbours have effectively been up for sale for over 2 years and nobody will touch them with a barge pole  despite them being run professionally and having a fanbase of  10 million.

“Better” in terms of financial stability but the opposite in many other areas. It’s all very relative and the lowest of low bars.

after the gellatys ,cook, drummond, dixon, marrs, gio ,melville ,d4life (who brought in  Scott Gardiner) the Americans have been by far the best owners of our club in the last 50 years.

As I said its the lowest of low bars.

Possibly the frustration many like I feel is the  promises and pledges made at the begining and throughout their tenor that haven't come to fruition or even close to fruition.

Back on topic - I think we could swap SP for numerous other candidates fans wanted instead and find that we are in no better position. I feel for the guy and hope that somehow he pulls us away from the fire.

The Keyes financial backing has been very good. Unfortunately, their man on the ground has squandered a fair bit of it with some absolutely appalling judgement calls. Managers and the state of the pitch to name just two, which have lost ius money. We kind of peak and trough. This time feels very much like a trough. The  ticket prices are appropriate for an actively challenging club, achieving Europe reasonably often. And maybe a cup final.  John Nelms is so out of touch with his customers. Time he changed or moved over for someone else to run the football side. It is his way that should be for the highway.
