When you're on a £120k+ salary and solely responsible for the running of the club, you don't take time off when your responsibility is in the quarter finals of a national tournament. He's got plenty of opportunities to take time off in the close season, during the week in general or during international breaks.

In the close season when we should be signing players? 

Maybe the trip was booked and didn't clash before the game was moved? Maybe? 

Why international breaks? That's a good time to catch up on things with no games on.

 

Regardless of his wage he is entitled to statutory holidays. He isn't a slave. Regardless of his ability to do his job we don't own him.
