What sort of rumours?

That he's frequently absent from Dens these days. I heard he was on vacation in Spain during the final week of the January transfer window...which, if true, sounds staggeringly irresponsible.

For anyone running a football club, what you see and hear in the stands, the banners, the boos, the chants, the empty seats, is a reflection of how well you are doing your job.

How Nelms can see himself as anything other than a complete and utter failure right now is beyond me.

Even worse, if he can't turn up at games it suggests he's clearly not f**king interested and would rather avoid facing up to reality or take responsibility for his abysmal tenure.

I think nelms is a sasij as much as the next person but the man's entitled to time off.

Beat him with whatever criticism you want but this isn't one of them.

There is the close season, postponed games, weekends free as we are usually out of the cups,  and numerous International breaks for time off.. After we play Huns next Sunday he has two weeks with no game. It’s plain wrong what he has done. Even he has November and a December coming up with the World Cup being on. Weak defence of the man.

He is of course entitled to time off but why choose the weekend of a cup quarter-final to get away? There are no shortage of weekends in the year when Dundee aren't involved in a big game.

The club he presides over is in crisis. We're 2/7 to finish bottom and if St Johnstone win their next two very winnable home games we're as good as down.

It seems very likely he's left the country to escape the heat, a tactic used by a number of former DFC owners in the past during a time of crisis.
