Aside from the manager, Nelms and our recruitment team are potentially a bigger problem to the club and one that is unlikely to get resolved under our current ownership. There is definitely something not right about our club that goes deeper than the manager. Our appointments, signings, loans, contracts management etc. don't appear to work for us.

From some of the opinions i've read on here over the years, if we did ever get a decent, experienced manager, they would more than likely clash with Nelms and WGS and be out the door...which is possibly why we haven't been very successful in our appointments in that role.

We can talk about handballs, and decisions going against us, but the stats don't lie, the recruitment doesn't lie, players not signing up and the performances don't he is breaking into McCann and McPake territory now - the last month has been abysmal, the season has had little improvement on last year or none how you wish to look at it.

I like TD at times, but I feel he needs to go the confidence is gone - if you are a player in that team you would be p1ssed off not starting when you see players (who are leaving) jogging back, shirking tackles, and not putting their body behind the ball to block shots. I'd rather go down with players putting max effort than some of these pretenders on our books who are due to sail off in the summer.

I find it incredulous that we need to give him a break. We have lost countless games from winning positions or conceding goals - with his stubborn game management, choice of substitutions, the players he has brought in are weakening the team. Of course there is always the thought, his hands are tied re the Mexican and Burnley deals what ever they are.

and if Garza did drill into players for being lazy then good on him, we need some fight in this team.

Second half we were the better team without really getting behind them except for the goal.

Corners and cross balls not being attacked or met as high as possibly killing us every game.

First half was a shambles but something was said at half time and there was an improvement.

Cant see any option but to start with the team that finished barring Finn- just not up to it.

No drive or dig in the tackle- pass the ball back whenever he can.

First half the whole team passed it back and square but much more positive second half- Joe was a step up certainly with his passing out of defence.

Might get found out with the pace of the 2 black guys up front for St Johnstone but he is the best option.

Absolutely not a dig as you are maybe from a different generation but coloured is in no way appropriate way to describe someone. They are black.

Also probably could have just described it as we might get found out by their two up front.

Yes.  We cannot get any worse.

Tiffoney has been so frustrating last few games he has played. Even when he is in a position where he doesn’t need to beat a man, for whatever reason, he seems to look for a man to beat anyway, and then, as per usual, he loses the ball.
I like Tiffoney and would like to see him sign a new deal (regardless of what division we are in), but he’s one of those players that  if the team are playing well, he can be excellent but if the team are playing badly then he is awful. He is never the guy who will get pass marks when everyone else around him are poor.

Hopefully Riley is better than Tiff.

Looks like public support on here has firmly turned against The Doc.  Having been at the game last night, I didn't hear too many cries of 'Doc out' apart from the standard "boo" at half time and full time.  However, I'd have been interested to read posts on here today, had we taken something from the game, bearing in mind we were denied the most obvious penalty of the season and we played fairly well throughout the second half.  Shug coming into defence made a difference, as did Reilly.

Also, history shows us that sacking a manager at this time of the season doesn't always work.  If you sack the manager, you're also changing the coaches and, potentially all the fitness guys, performance analysts, physios etc, and things take time to settle thereafter.  A new manager then takes time to get to know the players, mould the squad to his liking and change systems, tactics, etc.

Further, those in charge of DFC often sack a poor manager then replace him with an even worse manager . . . .

Duffy to Kerno, Jocky to Chisholm, Hartley to McCann, McCann to Agent DAB, McPake to McGhee, etc.

I would also say, based on yesterday's second half performance, the players are still playing for the shirt and manager.  Bringing in a new manager may well see the players downing tools completely, especially those who are not staying beyond June.  It wasn't that long ago, Doc and the players had a terrific bond with the fans (I sit in the Derry) following the Scottish Cup derby and the games versus the ugly step-sisters from Wegieland.

Lastly, I've seen lost causes before, all too often, and we're not at that stage yet IMO.  We change managers far too often, which is perhaps a reason we never operate a stable long-term plan.  Unfortunately, I think the bigger problem is the CEO, and he'll not be punted if we lose to the farmers on Saturday . . . . . . .

I am not calling for the Docs head just yet, as I think he has the chance to go on and do better. However, he has to start learning that when things are not working, then he has to change tactics.

Yes, he has lost his way a little bit, but if he can get back on track, then I believe we will stay up. But, and a massive but, he really has to start learning from his mistakes faster.

As I said, I like Doc, I thing he will come good, but he has to learn and change things quicker when things are not working.

Has Joe S being asked to ‘Guide’ the team to the end of the season written all over it.

Cheap and ?

Can Nelms afford to pay off Doc and his team and get another lot in? Seems he couldn't afford a striker.

Even Garza and Chespi might make a better fist of it than Doc is doing just now though 😏

For me, this has got charlie adam written all over it if we make a change and I'd have no idea what to expect with that.

Well. He recommended Samuels. So there is that 🤔
