Can we afford to punt him & his back room staff?? Defo not if the playing budgets been slashed

I would be punting the back room staff which imho is far to many and spending it on better players.

Back room staff shouldn't be paying for Nelms' incompetence

I'd calmed down since the appointment and moved into the grudgingly giving it a chance camp but that today was absolutely pathetic, I can't remember a serious chance we created bar a few headers from corners.

I didn't like Pressley before he got the gig here - came across as a bit of a dick in interviews, but no bad feelings towards him taking the gig - it's the clowns who offered him it who're apparently not tuned in enough with Scottish football to recognise what the fan response was going to be (not just from our support) and how quickly things would get really toxic if it wasn't a decent start.

No idea where we go from here, other teams in the league will be rubbing their hands.

In particular livi and Falkirk. All we needed to do was have a team to compete and beat them . I thought that was certain but now who knows. I’m no fan of this league cup format but we have been caught cold , poorly prepared and a real dent in confidence for players and fans. We can turn it around but the manager who already had very little wriggle room has lost it all already. One bad result or a run without a win and he will have e to go

I was against the appointment and I think it was a slap in the face to the fans. But he has received my backing and will continue to receive my backing while he is in the job. That doesn’t excuse some of his comments though in the media, such as not being the kind of man you want if you want trophies; the pot shot at certain players over fitness; and the admittance that he hasn’t handled pre-season properly. Then the David Brent-esque comments about ‘trusting the process’. I feel sorry for him though as he has clearly been hung out to dry, and he has been the victim of the incompetence of Nelms. I am hoping against hope that he turns this around for the sake of the club we all love.

Not sure Pressley was hung out to dry. He applied for the job and accepted. Up to him to do his due diligence on current squad, pre season requirements etc and if he could work with budget. As much as Nelms is incompetent doubt he would have promised certain things in terms of player budget and only a few weeks later be changing his mind.

How do we know he’s been hung out to dry. He was told what budget he had before he took the job , he would have done his own due diligence on the club before he took the job. Every manager nelms has taken on has backed financial. The problem is HIM. He’s an idiot and should have never been given the job. I want him sacked as he’s going to get us relegated. He’s coming out absolute sh*t every time he speaks. He is an absolute clown of a manager and we are a laughing stock of Scottish football

I think it's fair to suggest that whilst Pressley's remit was to develop players he would also be expected to ensure we continued with our Premiership status. I'm guessing he was sold the vision and that our recruitment team would do the spade work to identify suitable targets for his chosen positions and he could then concentrate on his on field duties. Whilst he may have been promised, and agreed to, a transfer budget what we're doing with that budget appears to be out of his hands. It's clear from his words already that we've missed out on targets so I'm assuming we've moved on to second or even third choices which obviously isn't ideal. Whilst he's maybe not been 'hung out to dry' he does appear to be at the mercy of a recruitment team and process that isn't delivering his top targets, or delivering targets in a suitable timeframe.

I'm not so sure.

This smacks of Pressley being sold a pup and being subjected to significant budget cuts.

What about the Brentford lads he must have had a hand in those?

Yes I'm sure he probably did. After seeing them though I'm not convinced that they were signed as first picks, we need to rebuild the squad, which would include fillers and they're part of that. They may adapt quickly and become regular starter's but I'm not sure that Pressley had 2 Brentford kids as mainstays of his first team. He's said it himself that he wants up to another 6 and they must be first picks which suggests his signings so far aren't necessarily ready, or expected by him, to play week in, week out.

He was appointed to late, all the targets were TD and SP probably didn’t fancy them and wanted his own players . He should have started earlier and got his targets

Almost immediately after Pressley was announced JN did an interview where he stated that we were working through a list of 68 targets, given that we're fishing in pretty much the same pond as everyone else from a budgetary point of view I'd be surprised if Pressley wasn't aware of that (alleged) list and that he didn't feel there were any suitable targets on it. Remember he picks the positions that he feels need filled but the recruitment team picks the targets so he's not exactly hands on when it comes to signings, he'll undoubtedly have an input but I'm not sure that extends to rejecting 68 players.
