Not likely high street bank would be funding this. Look at organisations that they’ve already taken the loans for in dark blue holdings, they will want higher returns and charge a premium

Funding is apparently coming from Ireland.

£1m mortgage for a house over 30 years works out about £72k per year. Googled the figures. £20m would be £1.44m per year, if there is not a change in the rate.

The rates will differ depending on who the mortgage is with, I'd imagine that a house and a stadium will be funded by different providers. A standard mortgage would be over something like 25yrs ours will likely be a lot longer. Your 30yrs will probably be much shorter than our mortgage given that Nelms has said that the new stadium costs will be less than the current cost of maintaining Dens.

I agree. I was hoping there might be Dee who actually knew something about commercial loans. There's been discussion on the other forum about the costs of short term loans raised already by the club. The rate used, I think, is about 5%.

Aye, fair point.

I've no idea how far apart retail rates are compared to the more niche lenders but would they be double? If so, Nelms can get off his ar*e and get down to Nationwide on Monday!

There will likely be a variety of investors with different terms - including maybe a shareholding in the development rather than purely lending cash.

Interested in the idea that a shareholding in a football club, like DFC, might be worth something.

Not so much the football club but the greater business i.e. the development.

Agree the football team itself is just a means to an end to get a commercial development in place. Concerts, exhibitions, conferences etc as well as the other commercial aspects are worth investing in. As many people have found out, it’s extremely difficult to make any money out of Scottish football.

Sure this has been asked before but any preferences on what it will be called?

My guess would be The ‘x’ Stadium at Camperdown with naming rights up for grabs. New Dens Park would be a nice touch though.

Aye, the only way to make a fortune out of Scottish football is to start with two fortunes!
