Not a fan of that idea at all.

Not a fan of folk from Dundee marking the passing of a local lad?

No one's asking for a minutes silence.

Don't follow boxing at all so I'll be honest and say I'd never heard his name before this week but think it would be a fitting thing to do for those who are touched by this sad occurrence.

Each to their own I suppose.

No, I'm not a fan of it. It's been a very topsy turvy couple of days with numerous false reports etc. I don't feel as though it's a very good idea for a load of folk who as you admit, had never even heard of him until a few days ago, to sing his name when those closest are still coming to terms with it all.

That's the nature of the beast these days though, everyone clamouring to be seen to be emotionally attached to everything in the world.

Furthermore, I'm sure the 'especially since the cameras are there' comment never meant any offence but it doesn't read too well, IMO. Maybe I'm just over cynical.

*This isn't really a topic or time to be doing this, I'll not comment any further.*

You're presuming people would be doing it for 'opportunistic' reasons and I did say those touched by it.

I saw it differently and think those close to him might be touched by the intention.

Agree it's not something to be argued about though.
