Don’t think it was ever anything like a love in. Some posters, including me, just thought he wasn’t as rank rotten as Mr Rivers repeatedly posted. Starting to doubt my defence.

In a way your both right, he's not as bad a footballer as people say (myself included) but he's not of Scottish premier league quality and is therefore (like others) out of his depth. He's a decent bottom 8 championship player or a very good 1st division player. So unfortunately as he's not what we need.

On the subject of underwhelming signings, Danny Williams is currently at non-league Fylde. Since leaving Dundee almost exactly a year ago he has played 1 minute of football for Accrington Stanley and 11 minutes for Fylde.

How do we end up signing guys on three-year deals who have absolutely nothing to offer?

He'll be on an absolute fortune at Fylde, too.

Nade and Clarkson had no shortage of critics when they arrived and yet they made a big impact.

Allan and Thomson arrived with big reputations and yet contributed a lot less than we hoped.

We need to judge Woods on what he does for Dundee. I’m glad the club are doing what they can to bolster the squad and suddenly I feel a bit more optimistic about us staying up.

Thomson was different class when fit and on his game.

Absolutely. He was a wonderful player.

I was blown away by Derek Ferguson's performance for Dundee when we trounced Hibs at Dens (4-0 I think) and Thomson is the closest I've seen to an outstanding deep-lying playmaker since.

You could argue though that Jim Mac contributed more to our top six finish than KT and that's kind of what I was getting at when I said we expected more from KT.
