Who needs to communicate on the park through language when you can just point?

My suggestion that we'd benefit from a core Scottish group was certainly open to debate but I think it was a reasonable thing to say.

You mind of Darren Williams ex Sunderland player , thought he was ok but looked overweight if i mind right , in fact i cant mind now if he was ok or not

Klimpl was a big dissapointment for me given his CV as was Di Marchi who had a great CV if i mind right

Think Williams was slow as f**k but he was decent enough in First Division terms and did a job.

Klimpl was class initially but our fitness regime quickly changed that. Dominated Aberdeen and I was so disappointed when he missed the Rangers game. Really sad about how we didn't get more from him.

Thats all Mcgowan does  - point and scream , reminds me of Paul Mchale - another player i didnt rate that i was in the minority about

Aye suppose he did do a job if my memory serves me correct.

Klimpl - i never got it with him , maybe i was expecting too much from what id heard (seen on youtube) but never thought he was good for us anytime i seen him , should have signed Edgar Davids if we wanted a player to boss games 😀

Cant disagree with that except Harkins , first time round but didnt like the lame excuse in how he left the club (2nd time i think it was) and towards end i thought he was done at Dundee FC level and i think i was right given he went to Ayr , saying that scary how much we`ve declined in terms of quality in our side , PH last summer spree was abysmal then followed by NM poor signing after poor signing , we`ve managed to get poorer the more seasons we`ve been in SPL , i mean how many of this current team would get in PH 1st season team in SPL

Bit harsh on NM he did get Scott Allen, Kamara, Hendry and took a season saving chance on Caulker. However his last window was a disaster.

Unlike you CC I like Gowser but to see him gesticulating wildly after his touch helped set up the opening goal for Rangers was quite absurd.

Sometimes he needs to rein it in. Screaming at Julen during the game for giving away two penalties probably didn't help the Spaniard's concentration.

Fair enough cobra that you like him , the biggest praise i can give Mcgowan is that he`d be first name on team sheet for me in a Derby - he had 1 derby game where he was outstanding imo (might be a couple more where i sang his praises to the hilt but all in all i think he`s a poor footballer and that incident with Rangers is one of far too many.

Julen was a bombscare in the end but felt Mcgowan went OTT and i could understand it if he was Roy Keane but even then cant think of Keane doing that in a proffesional game the way Gowan did... Mcgowan will never change , i was dissapointed he got an extension... if he left Dens the morn he`d end up a division below imo

Sometimes what looks like a strange signing can surprise you . I remember thinking what the f**k are we signing a boy who can't get a game for Queen of the South for but Lyle turned out to be a great signing at the time . Also thought Peaso would be an injury prone player well past his best but he turned out to be a brilliant striker in our promotion year

I certainly hope so. Just don't get those who feels he contributes to the team. Never goes forward and loves giving a hospital pass. Throw in the number of goals he has cost us and I wouldn't have him near the first team

I think it illustrates just how little steel we have in the team that any player who seems capable of mixing it will get some leeway from our support - for a time.

However, the deficiencies in Spence's game show why he was headed where he was headed before McCann plucked him from obscurity.

CC, I never played football at professional level so I can't lecture our players on how to play the game but in my 15-20 years of playing the game, when you are second best or just playing badly you have to noise up the opposition, you have to foul them, you have to unsettle them, you have to make the game unpleasant for them.

When I was sitting down the front row when we beat County 3-1 in Dingwall I saw McGowan needlessly square up to a guy and it looked like quite a nasty experience for the County player, and I could tell he hated it. Maybe that's dirty tactics but I would rather we dish it out than receive it.

I won't say I'm glad to read this comment as I never want to see Dundee players fail but I was made to feel my criticism of Spence earlier in the season was vindictive and unfair, so I'm somewhat relieved to see a poster such as yourself kind of back up what I was getting at.

That said, he remains a Dundee player and I desperately want him to do well and prove me wrong.
