But a player who's been without a club, and hasn't played football in 6 months, since being relegated from the SPL - pretty much relegated twice last season. A player who's former clubs fans are laughing at the news of us signing. 

If he makes a difference then all the better and nobody can complain, but being happy because he's played in the league means nothing at all when his reputation is abysmal.

Nade and Clarkson had no shortage of critics when they arrived and yet they made a big impact.

Allan and Thomson arrived with big reputations and yet contributed a lot less than we hoped. 

We need to judge Woods on what he does for Dundee. I’m glad the club are doing what they can to bolster the squad and suddenly I feel a bit more optimistic about us staying up.

Would be very surprised if he turns out to be worse than Curran on Wednesday night and worse than Elton has been for 9/10ths of the season.

I was just having a laugh anyway.

As Cobra points out the post below, players have came here with big reps and not lived up to them. Players have came and been slaughtered and turned out to be good signings.

I'll take any extra options just now as the current ones are awful.

Totally agree with virtually all of this. 

Still think there's a player in there somewhere with Elton, however. 

Also don't know how much it's been discussed on here but the impact of losing O'Hara from our midfield has been totally underestimated IMO.

Guys like Elton, Nabi, Madianga etc seem to have a wee bit of ability but zero heart, fight, strenghth or height. I'd rather have the player getting stuck in and kicking lumps out of folk at this stage of the season. We are where we are so lets concentrate on getting out this mess then we can look to improve the quality in the summer

At the start of the season I doubt many would have taken a Livi player ahead of what we have, yet look at them. Play to our strengths whatever that is and if it means tag teaming the opposition players on the halfway line then so be it

The squad is horribly unbalanced. Nabi, Elton, Madianga and Deacon are all decent footballers but they don’t have the mental attributes to carry our team. If we had a tough leader like Scott Brown in the middle we’d probably see a different side to these guys.

Give O’Dea the armband, drop Curran and Spence to the bench, get Gowser fit and playing alongside Woods and Kamara in the middle and things should improve.
