Probably on average about 3-4 home games in a season I'll miss with being away or whatever. Usually average about 7/8 away games in a season.

Went maybe 6/7 years during my teens only getting to about 5/6 games a year due to playing football on a Saturday but given that up now.

Missed a handful of home games since late 60's. I go to most away games but usually give Inverness and Dingwall a miss unless it's a cup game as I can't be arsed with the mileage. Gave Parkhead a swerve this season too for the first time in years as I felt a hammering coming.

Every home game (Missed my first in a decade due to work the other week). I've toned down on my away attendance in recent years mainly due to cost but attend all Derbies and all St Johnstone games due to location.

Celtic games are the only away games you can be sure I'll not be at tbh.

Used to be an every gamer and even toughed out all but one (Ross Vounty away midweek) of the Kerno era

Season ticket holder but family means I miss more away games than I would like

Would bring a tear to a glass eye if you worked out the cash cost of it all versus the pish we have watched.

Yeah, I was telling a boy I worked with that he was nuts for spending about 3 grand a year on fishing trips and kit and he asked how much I spent on football. It brought it home, 2 ST's plus home/away strips, programmes, half time draws, Dee Lottery, travelling to and from Dundee an hour each way, usually by car but the odd train trip and that's just the home games. Travelling to away games just adds to it and I'm not even tossing in the beer and pies. I reckoned it was well more than the 3 grand or so he was spending.

As for games, last year was the first year I made every home game, worked away most my adult life and haven't lived anywhere near Dundee since I was 18. For the last 10 years or so had an ST but never got value for money, Mrs Root has had one for about the last 6 or 7 years too. I always went to away games when I was back (when I could) in the last 8 years or so, before 2003 I was a very part time supporter for a number of reasons. Only missed a couple of away games last year but this year I'll probably miss a few more, just for the money side of things. My ambition is to make every single game in a season including pre season, maybe next season.

Season ticket holder so I go to all home league games, only one I missed last season was St Johnstone post split. I stay in Aberdeen and the only away games I have been to this season and last are Aberdeen (my home game), Utd and St Johnstone.

Couldn't manage any cup games last season but will see how the Scottish Cup draw pans out this season.

Started going in the late 70s, but only on occasions, as I've always been an out of towner. Started going regularly in 1990-91, when I started driving. Then work took over weekends, so between 91-92 and 93-94, I only got to 4 games.

Picked up again in 1994-95, making most home games and a few away and that continued through to 2000-01, when I changed jobs and knew I'd be off every weekend, so bought a season ticket. I started going home and away and that's continued on until the last couple of years when I struggle to justify the expense of going to every away game. I still tend to do the more local stuff, but haven't travelled to Celtic or Partick this season and won't be going today. Hate not being there though...

I'm sad enough to be able to tell you exactly how many times I've seen Dundee play and it's 672...

Chalk and cheese, I enjoy my Thistle away days, they're Mrs Roots fave away day, mostly because she can get a burl round the shops before getting the clockwork orange out. The stewards are friendly and there are some decent boozers around. Celtic park on the other hand.......

Wee while since I've been at Firhill, but it is a good away day.

I suppose my lack of enthusiasm for the further away days stems as much from my brother having stopped going to any games. It's not the same heading that far on your own and some of my days out on the supporter's buses have not really been my thing.
